First tour they were denied visas outright. New Model Army is actually a reference to Oliver Cromwell . Here's how my night ended last thursday:

Our apologies to all those who went to the Minneapolis gig tonight. We are really gutted that we didn't make it. Our day began badly trying to re-enter the US from Canada, where the customs decided to 'do' us. When, after an exhaustive search of the van, the couldn't find any drugs, they decided to prosecute us for importing American-made CDs into America (no, we're not quite sure either) and sadly have conviscated all our stock. This process took approximately six hours. We thought we'd still make it. Then 200 miles from Minneapolis we hit the storm. The road became whiter and whiter and then emptier and emptier until we couldn't see it at all. We made a go of it for a hundred miles but finally, crawling along at 30mph we realised we couldn't reach Minneapolis before 1. oo am and are now holed up in motel in St Cloud. Hopefully we'll get back one day.

Yah. 2nd time. Gonna be hard to see em now. Would have been a 3-fer for some great old bands (Saw X and NY Dolls here, both of which were awesome) ah well.

Perhaps. Main thing: We shouldn't blame NMA for this. Something is woefully amiss when a UK band has this many problems with US govt. agencies.
