After logging in and seeing my latest set, knowing I still have my old dye sitting in a box here in my living room, yet knowing I should not do it...
It's going to be a long night.
Someone send me cookies or moral support or something.

Heh, well you know I love the blue on you, but I understand you do need to think about day-to-day earning power too.
What are your favorite kinds of cookies? I really love soggy sorta stale graham crackers and most anything super fresh with cinnamon or gingerbread or almonds.
oatmeal cookies with almond slivers. i used to make them almost daily before i moved out of my parents house lo, so long ago now. i have the recipie somewhere. they're soft and delicious.Originally Posted by Amelia G
and yes, it's all about the earnings. if i were only piercing (if i could afford to live off of being a shopgirl for now & then apprenticing) i would have blue hair with random parts shaved out and shaved eyebrows. insert dramatic sigh here.
it's very strange to feel like wearing a mask in the daytime for the exact same reason i make money at night. i don't want to appeal to the mainstream, but yet... i do. it's enough to make me certifiable.
Sometimes I like oatmeal and sometimes not so much, but that sounds soooooooo nummy right now.Originally Posted by Sara X
One of the cool things about you having naturally fair hair anyway is that it makes it even more doable for you to keep it blonde for work a lot of the time, but dye it blue when you are off to do more fun things. Blue does eventually sorta fade to platinum.
I know the feeling! I finally got used to the bleach blond thing and every time I look in the mirror now i keep thinking that turquoise would look fabu... or a pretty shade of pink...*GRR* Must not dye!
Cookies- oreos are a standby but gingersnaps are a fave.

i would like to find a really light blue that i could do and know that it was going to fade back to white in a relatively short amount of time.Originally Posted by Amelia G

*nodnods* We need a support group. I've managed to keep my hair blond since October. This is a record for me... I keep trying my best to stave off the, Purple? Pink? Oooh.... I want redhair again!
My name is WickedAnima, and I'm a dye-a-holic...
i just turned 33 myself and im not sure if im 'too old' to dye my hair some unnatural colour? my hair is this boring reddish tinted brown. i look really good(i think) with either black or red dyed hair. not sure if i can get away with it still. i have the urge to do it, but would get so much flak for doing so.
pfff you are never too old, if you think your hair is a boring shade of reddish brown just put some semi-permanent dye in it (such as special effects) in a deep red shade to give it a real red hue, which will wash out over time.Originally Posted by aXa
yeah, i may just tone it down some when and if i end up doing it. nothing too unnatural looking. prolly just a semiperm colour that i can find at the local store.
You can't be too old to dye your hair funky colours. My mom in law is nearly 50 and her hair is half ruby red and blue black on the bottom, nothing remotely natural about it...
I miss my own nuclear red. Man that was awesome....

I've been trying to avoid the dye if for no other reason than my hair's health. It's been nearly 10 years since I've seen my natural hair color. I've been dying since freshman year of high school.
I took the black out and then dyed what I'm assuming is my natural color about 4 months ago. So far, I've resisted the urge.
And this discussion of baked goods will now send me off to make cheesecake. I think I can make it green just by adding food color, right?
Cover me. If I'm not back in an hour call the fire department.

Ooh. What's all this then? Is there a particular blue that this works best with?
i am wondering this myself.Originally Posted by Wickedanima

We are not being a good anti-dye support group, I'm afraid.
gahhhh... now i wanna dye my hair some more-unnatural color. being a supervisor now at my job i'm not allowed- i'm already kinda pushing it with my bright red highlights as it is, even though i don't deal with customers and those under me are allowed to dye their hair whatever color they want..... i miss orange. that was my favorite. or maybe hot pink. i guess i'll have to deal with black for now.
and yes, cookies= good moral support no matter what kind.... hehe
im bleaching my hair (again) this weekend..
part of me want to dye it grey...thats daffy right?
Yes. Daffy. Especially considering if you dye it purple or blue, it should fade to a lovely gray on its own!
yeah i was thinking like storm from xmen
that's kinda what my hair ended up looking like after the light blue I had dyed it faded out, Actually, it was more of a weird white-gray, not the gray your hair turns when you get older.
omg what color was it??!??!Originally Posted by the_darkness_calls

Man oh man do I know how you feel. I bleached the black out, and now its a boring old brown. I have a ton of "vampire red" and "pillarbox red" sitting around here...
Thanks Amelia!!
Its called Lie Locks... Its just a bit more purple in person, but just as electric.Originally Posted by Sara X
At least you got the black out. Pillabox red has to be my alltime favorate... Vampire red is truely wonderful though. ( ^_^ ) We should start a thread with ourselves with our all time favorate funky hair colors.Originally Posted by kellie

I've ended up in the hospital, been forced to shave my head (but it turned out well so meh) and am seriously allergic to hair dye ... but I don't let it stop me! Elumin is fabola!
