So therefore, I am fun too. Yippee!
As I hope you have gathered, I'm a new guy.
>.> I'm slightly insane, so be warned. I'm also a socialist. Yay, USSR!

Your avatar is like Kirby fucked Dr. Zoidburg. I like it.
Welcome to the forumsSsSsSsSsS
To induce vomitting! That was the answer! It was like Mardi Gras!
Welcome!
Ello and watch that 1st step.
.... Vomiting? Ok, maybe I'm not the most batshit insane whacko here.
*trips on the first step* Oh, thanks.
hallo and welcome.. are you crazy like a fox with rabies?
No, I'm crazy like I do random things. Really random.
But in bouts. Sometimes, I actually CONTRIBUTE normal things!! I know, so unconventional!
Why do you cheer the USSR? Most socialists I know unequivocally condemn a regime that murdered 20 million human souls (that being a conservative estimate by french socialists)Originally Posted by DoctorZ

Oh, I don't condone those acts of the USSR. But alot of the things about the USSR, I liked.
If you want an example, they got us into space, for one thing.
It helps that they had some kick-ass music, but that's just a side-bonus.
I like a lot of the composers. I don't think a Shostakovich was really a product of the USSR. A lot of the artists of the period were actually using code to make fun of the USSR. I believe Russia and Ukraine had always offered some of the world's greatest musicians, writers, artists, and scientists.Originally Posted by DoctorZ

I meant the "propaganda", and military marches, they were kick-ass. And the USSR's Anthem. Have you heard that thing? It makes you want to dress up in red, go back in time to the 1950s, and march around with them in the Red Square.
hmm.. i see, comrade..lolOriginally Posted by DoctorZ
haha. I'm the Grandson of Ukrainian immigrants. I have heard the anthem. I understand most of the propaganda posters. I detest the USSR albeit they did have some powerful aesthetics (as did Nazi Germany for that matter). The fascination with it doesn't surprise or bother me. I am always just curious when someone mentions it.Originally Posted by DoctorZ

Keep in mind, I don't exactly want the Soviet Union to pop back in existance and start the Cold War over again. But I do want something better to form from it's ashes. Communism shouldn't die.
a canadian communist, eh?..interesting..lolOriginally Posted by DoctorZ

Under what influence? Mind controlling aliens? Psychic corps of the Soviet Union? ...What? >.>
Moving on. How 'bout them psychic abilities?
I knew tyou were gonna say that
:O OMG!
I knew you were gonna type that! >.>
That's cool. I have nothing against socialists per se. I don't see a superstate arising over there at this point. Hopefully, the will of the people in each independent country will be heard.Originally Posted by DoctorZ

You mean the NUSSR (nusser? sounds kinky) would ask if the country wants to join up?
NUSSR = New United of Soviet Socialist Republics, in case you hadn't figured it out.
No. Each country is now independent. There will be no new superstate.Originally Posted by DoctorZ

I'm merely saying if a new superstate WERE to emerge, through whatever process would bring such a thing about.
Well anyways, welcome aboard. What music you into besides classical?Originally Posted by DoctorZ

Anything, really. As long as it's good. But I really like Gregorian.
I think it was Marx who said that civilization would evolve and communism was the next step, so in History class we had a debate on who should have won the cold war.
I had a nap.
Gregorian the band? Yeah, I totally dig those guys. Loved their Floyd cover. Like the monks chanting also. Need to order more of both when I'm settled in my new place.Originally Posted by DoctorZ
Stuff like Era, and Enya. Those guys.
Never heard of Gregorian the band....
hello..............................uh, you do know that socialism doesn't work, don't you?
Just FYI... Those artists really don't imitate gregorian chant, or later chant for that matter in style or in content. I only feel the need to share this so I can feel my pain in the ass Music Lit class has been put to good use . So anyway, welcome! And um... Congrats on starting an" I'm new here" thread that sparked actual conversation. Way to go!Originally Posted by DoctorZ
Hello, welcome!
Communism is the most painful path between capitalism and capitalism, but welcome.
First off, thanks. I've usually good at starting conversations.Originally Posted by Janiac02

((I do like the occasional chant here and there >.>))
P.S. 'Ello to all who said.... hello. *looks through thread* Hmm... Seems only to be Synthetic that said hello. Does that mean something?
we dont tend to appreciate people who start conversations around here. thinking is the devils tool, and openminded stimulating discussion is a foul wind in the nostrils of our lord and savior.
PS: welcome, comrade zoidberg. let us know when you escape the kirby.
I have another avatar I could use. Would you recommend I use it?
hellz no. VG Cats FTW! id be using the alien one if it wasnt for my intense ninjaness.
Allo and may peace find you wherever you may be...
