Wow. Interesting 6 year jump. Hmm. I have three one eyed cats. I don't really belong to a social group that I'm cognizant of. There are folks that I have to deal with and others that I just like to. I try to combine the two as much as possible. I'm trying to gain a layman's knowledge of epilepsy at the moment. My nephew was diagnosed recently. It has been a life changer for me in many ways. I tend to delve heavily into one thing for awhile ... then move on. I'm wearing a Sinatra t-shirt I picked up goodness knows where. His vocal enunciations just blow me away. Love Sinatra. Hope the last 6 years have been good to you. It is interesting to see the jump in years on the site.

There was a line in Interview with The Vampire (book is way better) that I found wonderful. Louis is talking to Armand in the catacombs and Armand says to Louis...
"Louis, I need you more than he ever did. I need a link with this century. The world changes. We do not. Therein lies the irony that ultimately kills us. I need you to make contact with this age."
Louis says, "He? Don't you see? I'm not the spirit of any age! I'm at odds with everything and always have been! I'm not even sure what I am!"
Armand responds, "But Louis, that is the very spirit of your age. The heart of it. Your fall from grace has been the fall of a century."
It is a wonderful bit of dialogue. We do not fit into any mold, we do not represent anything except that we cannot fit in anywhere, yet, we are longed after by those who are decedent and lost in a life they no longer love. Your raison de'tre should be that you fight the status quo and question everything. Find peace in that.

Things are alright...I actually did not too bad with the recession...equipment was stupid cheap and interest rates were really really low...I'll never get that opportunity again
That's great that you have taken in so many one-eyed kitties. I volunteer with a couple of animal shelters and we had a one-eyed kitten a couple of months ago that was difficult to adopt out. She's finally got a home and doing great!
My other mother had epilepsy and I saw her have a couple of seizures when I was young... but her symptoms were well-managed with medication overall.
Awesome! It was kind of uncanny. We were sitting on our porch here. An outdoor cat approached. One-eyed! The little guy did have a tag. He just came right to me like we were old friends. The epilepsy is still going rough here. I'm trying to learn as much as possible while I have a little time off.
On a happier note, I finally moved back to Cali. It took some time to get settled, but we're looking forward to a lot of great years here.

I've had a much better sense of self as of late. Ran out of energy to worry about it. Decided I'd rather put that energy into exploring those varied and possibly conflicting interests. Not terribly worried about someone catching me in a dark corner wearing a goofy hat, stomping around to something industrially, reading a comic book and telling sophomoric dick jokes. *I* was the one that was judging myself harshly.
sounds like what I do....except my hat ain't goofy
