Rasputina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing Rasputina last nite in a converted church here in Pittsburgh! The acoustics were absolutely fantastic. They played a flawless 2 hour set. I was utterly mesmerized by their use of cellos. I met them after the show. They were incredibly sweet and totally without pretense. My one question: Where did 2 cello players hook up to give us such magic? The INTERNET Cello Society. There's hope for us digital slackers yet!

Do see Rasputina, you will not be disappointed even if you have never heard them. The crowd was also a wonderfully eclectic group of people. It was a fantastic nite.

I really dig rasputina, but I saw them a few years ago in Atlanta and it was so bad I had to leave.. glad they were better for you!

omggggg... i saw rasputina a few months ago and it was the best concert ive ever been to in my life! they are sooooooo talented and i was in complete awe the whole time of the sheer talent they have!!! omg it gives me goosebumps just thinking about how amazing they are... the only thing that sucks is that i will listen to their CDs now and it's not the same because the CD's dont sound HALF as good as the live performance.

I saw them about a year ago, and I'll admit the first few songs are awesome and it's amazing to watch them do what they do on cellos. BUT, I got real tired of hearing "this next one is for the animals, blah blah". Every song was followed by something about animals. And after awhile the amazment turned to boredom. Something I can appreciate, but in small doses, two hours was waaaaaaay too long for me.

Barracuda was awesome live indeed! They didn't play the Floyd song but it was a great set.
