So, purely hypothetically, is it OK that I fucked my co-worker? It was bound to happen, we are always hanging out and partying and whatnot. And drinking. And more drinking. And waking up naked still drunk.... You know, hypothetically.

long as you used the in/out box its all good
It's ok, but can get UGLY if things get emotional,
and there is any kind of breakup, etc...
At least with a stranger, if there is a problem, you can tell
them to fuck off, and never have to see them again.
With a co-worker, you have to see them every day.
Let's say you find out they are bragging about the sex
to the other co-workers around the water cooler...
Or saying lies. Cheating on you...
With a co-worker, you have to deal with them all the time.
Did you ever have an ex that you can not stand?
Someone you do not ever want to see again?
Well, you liked them at first... Thought they were cool, etc...
But then again, most people spend most of their time at work,
so that's the most likely place to meet someone...
I've dated someone I worked with before.
But I was friends with her for years before that,
so I was sure I was not making a big mistake...
I've also seen co-workers do the fuck-buddy thing,
which works fine. Except for the fact that guys tend
to brag, and girls tend to gossip about it. Those girls
who fucked around at work got a bad reputation...
The real problem is if there is an emotional attachment either way - which (IMHO) there almost invariably is. That's when it gets really, really messy.
My personal philosophy is to never get involved with a co-worker. But then again, in most of my jobs I can hardly stand talking to them, let alone being friendly. :P
[BTW, shouldn't this be in the erotica section?]
Unless it's a work enviornment where such a thing could be a real headache...I say enjoy. We're just talking sex right? Dating or a relationship would be a bad idea though...mainly cause you'd never be apart and that's always a recipe for destruction.
Well if you let it get to be more than just physical it can get really really messy. You need to be sure that there are no strings attatched and etc and that there's no emotional crud attatched to it. Otherwise you're dating and dating a coworker makes it really hard to keep the job after a break up. I really couldn't tell you as it's kind of my job to screw my co-workers and other than that I really haven't made a habit of it.

girls who sleep with their co-workers get a 'bad reputation', guys who do it can risk sexual harassment lawsuits. (not saying one is worse than the other, both suck.)
grown ups should be able to have sex with whoever they want without silliness... but I know I can't...
In my experience fucking ones coworkers is a bad idea. Causes nothing but problems in the long run.
I met my boyfriend in a training class when we started working for Adobe...now weve been together for years and have a little boy....
Purely hypothetically, would it be likely to make a difference if we were talking B/G, B/B, or G/G sexual encounter?
^ yes, all my co-workers are male
not the kind of people i am attracted to
now, if i wasnt attached i'd definently be considering the foxxy chick that works next door to my work
Well if it's G/G I'd be more interested in hearing the details of said encounter... :POriginally Posted by AmeliaG
I avoid coworkers for several reasons:
1.) You have to see them in the future, no matter how the interaction plays out.
2.) If it doesn't remain friendly, they can potentially cause problems for you at work in any number of vengeful ways.
Didn't you read the hypothetical memo re:fucking your coworkers
Well if you DO have sex with them it is a problem, and then if you DON'T have sex with them and they want to, that is a problem, so either way you are sort of damned to hell!!!
If you are sexy and pretty it is always going to get you into trouble. Or at least it always gets me into trouble.
You are talking to a girl that actually got kicked out of HOLLYWOOD for this stuff... So I am basically the right girl to talk to if you want to get into trouble!!!
But life will not be dull if you have sex with your co-workers. At least it won't be boring....
lawyer's answer: It Depends. Given what you know about the co-worker, what do you think will happen?
I mean generalizations are: Co-worker relationships = BAD
BUT the obvious flaw in that is that about half of the people I know have relationships with co workers, simply because co-workers are who they're around all the time.
I've seen it turn out good, and I've seen them turn out bad..... But then again that goes for non-co-worker stuff too.
So It depends on the totality of the circumstances, which you are best suited to consider.
I know a girl who dated someone she works with.
Now she hates him, because he became abusive, and now dreads
the possibility that he will end up working at the same company
as her again. Which is a very realistic possibility, because the
industry is not huge. It's one thing to run into them at a club,
or on the street sometime. It's another thing if they are at your
job every day, saying bad things about you, or trying to get
you fired, etc...
Ah, yes, I knew it was a "no-no". But that's why hypothetically it is so tempting, you know? You would do it if you didn't work together, then you get to give each other secret eyeball fuck looks at the office. And think of all the mischeif....
Hypothetically a boy girl thing.Originally Posted by AmeliaG

even if it was just 'all in fun'.
what everyone else said. had similar thing happen non hypothetically back when I was a security guard. slept with the accountant at the post i guarded. was removed from the post shortly after and put on a crappier post. just dont do it.
I can understand it in g-g relationships... even b-b ones.... but g-b is somehow out...old... at least for me
but then... what about classmates... I remember school was best for that...grown up life sux... I want back to schoolhanging out and partying and whatnot. And drinking. And more drinking. And waking up naked still drunk....
Yeah, no one worries about fucking your "co-students"...
It's part of school life!
It's different if you're fucking the boss, or fucking the professor, etc...
It should be cool with co-workers, but few people are able to manage
these things properly. There is always drama... Ugh!
and then there is always the situation of one yelling sexual harrassment afterward while making advances at you behind closed doors at the same time. that's a bitch. never mix business with pleasure.
That's about the only thing that would tempt me to get a 9 to 5 job...the possibility of a torrid office affair with a hot co-worker...preferably one like scar...or scar herself.Originally Posted by Scar

yeah I totally have this fantasy where I don't have to work for money... I just get whatever job interests me that week, and have fun there till it's time to move on...
hahaha... I once got a job because I thought the girl behind the counter was hot... and the boss hired me because she thought I was hot...
...oh well, wasted oppertunities...
I think you should definitely sleep with as many co-workers as possible. I mean, the whole thing is going to go wrong anyway, and you only live once.
I say go out of your way to totally flirt with every cute guy in the entire world and sleep with as many gorgeous boys as possible!!
Hell with it!! Live it up!!! At least you will have fun!
And don't listen to DeathKnight unless he buys you a Porsche! A red Porsche, vintage, red Porsche.
Hey... keeping a job is what lets you buy a Porsche!
You can still be a decadent freak outside of work.

I guess I'd better get back to work then...
Heh! Heh! Heh!!! But it's worth it for the red tape outfit, right?
Well, 2 of my ex boyfriends were once co-workers. Thats how we met, and got together. I stopped working at their job soon after we got together, with both of them. Both of those relationships lasted exactly 1 year, 9 months. They both ended up being really bad ideas too.
So... bad idea.

Maybe the problem is if you fuck around with your coworkers could that let them get close to your personal life? I suppose I have no problem with that it's more of fraternizing issues that got to me
Of course these days work for me is spending an average of 10 hours a day talking to myself in a small room so what do I know?
On a side note... "I'm hiring and I have many positions available"
