Yes, if you're battling the flu and your throat is sore, the irritation can spread into your teeth (just as toothache can cause ear pain, and related to the way your lymph nodes and nerves are laid out in your head).

But we'd prefer you to be pain-free, and I think you can guess my views on alternative medicine.

I finally broke down and bought some theraflu and advil this morning. that stuff better work. I haven't been this sick in almost ten years.

It should - I'm a firm believer that the more syllables an ingredients list uses, the more good it does swallowing it. True of medication, also true of candy, but the jury's out on body fluids.

Remind your better half that flu also benefits from having your every whim catered to. Some studies show even the effort of getting out of bed to tun on the TV can be fatal to patients whose symptoms included "feeling real shitty".

It is probably more your gums (keeping in mind that I'm not a doctor) that hurt than exactly your teeth. Or at least I get that when super sick. I find that flossing extra-thoroughly and then swishing with hydrogen peroxide, then salt water, and then Toms of Maine lemon-lime helps. You can gargle with all three, but don't swallow them. That can help kill whatever hostile bacteria are in your mouth and making you feel ouchie.

In case something you are doing or not eating while sick is actually hurting your teeth, a calcium supplement for a few days could not hurt either.

if your teeth hurt you may have a sinus infection. i only know thi b/c once i had a really bad cold and my teeth were killing me. i broke down, went to the doctor and she asked me if my teeth hurt which i though was weird that she knew that. diagnosis: sinus infection. you prolly need antibiotics

the theraflu is helping. sorry I'm such a little wimp. I haven't been sick in so long, I forgot how much it sucks. I slept all day which is good because I wasn't able to sleep at all before today. I hope I feel close to normal by tomorrow.
