Keiko,
I would love some... to answer your question...
I don't have a clue...
But i do that I heard a commercial that said millions of people suffer from deppressinon... that made me sad, because i don't.
ok i'm high.
not in honor of this thread or anything.
but anything Keiko's posts deserve more love than this.
is's not like i be a stalker or nothin.
but i'm just really high right not.
and shit.
word.
and DisneyWorld rocks!
not really into gingersnaps....I did like these things my grandmother used to make out of egg whites and lots of sugar, hmmmm what were they called?
I'd like gingersnaps! :gesticulates wildly:
Mr. Karl, it sounds like Merengue Cookies, I think.
I'll take a Gingersnap or two.
Probably because you are a little nervous and need some distraction .
If baking doesn't distract all that is around you, nothing will.
well... at least baking doesnt stress you out does it? it does to me sometimes when i have lots to bake and im running out of time heh...
it only stresses me out when i get halfway through a recipe and discover that i don't have any (insert ridiculously simple thing here). Five steps into grandma's gingersnaps and I have no vegitable oil. *grr* Or attempting ot pull a cookie sheet out of the oven and discovering htat my mother in law has not a single pot holder in the whole house so I have to go dig through my (still packed) boxes of crap to find them in between cookie sheets.
Today I make BTF Bananna Nut Muffins. And waffles. Prolly also bannana flavoured. And prolly a second batch of peanut butter cookies.
It's funny right now it's a fight for the kitchen between Mom and I. She's got the stove top tied up with mashed potatoes and spinach artichoke dip and hte battle for the oven between the cookies and the veggie lasagna is funny.
Speaking of Lasagna.... I have a lrage orange cat that eats lasagna. I knew I should have named Zim Garfield.
K
omg you have a cat named zim??? that... is... AWESOME.
*sends you your own oven* hehee... *and oven mitts!*
have you ever thought of becoming a pastry chef?
ya i bake all the time ,
humm and im stressed all the time as of late ,,
WTF am i gonna do with the 140,000 sugar cookies i made ???
Crap gonna haver too sell them to pay that gas bill i think ,
Have a cookie .. and a glass of milk .
You won't be able to cook as fast, but maybe you could use this:
http://www.thinkgeek.com/stuff/41/ezbake.shtml
that is horribly disgusting... but so funny hehe.. i want one i had an easy bake oven when i was a kid... course i never baked in it, (what kid does? were fucking KIDS COME ON WE DONT WANT TO WAIT 3 HOURS FOR A HALF PORTION SIZE BIT OF CAKE!!) heh yeah... i just mixed up the batter and ate it. of course.
mmmmmm that article said bagel bites.... they are so fucking tasty i could eat a whole box... (well for dinner if i was hungry enough, i could probably eat 1/3 of the huge family size box for myself... there was like 90 little pizzas in it, i could eat a fucking third of it. yum.)
one more drive to stick the wrong disk in. I cna just see it now trying ot pull teh grilled cheese out of hte dvd drive and dvd melted in the ezoven. *sigh*
I've gotten to the point where I'm attempting ot get "donations" fro mteh people wh i send cokies too to cover baking costs. (eggs and flour don't just grow in the back yard, you know.) Though since I've cookied, wffled nad muffined about I've started experimenting wiht saute`s and sauces. my spicy sour cream sauce with saute`ed perogies has been a great hit.
yes i have considered becoming a pastry chef. and now i'm working out in my head the whole "owning my own resturaunt" thing. thouhg buisness start up in europe seems to be a little hard to get info on here in teh states.... any loverly bbb members with insight into resturaunt start up in say germany or france?

I thought of a good name for your cooking show if you get one: *Baking Keiko
*badda bing
except that i'm not keiko anymore
What a coincidence, when I realized that I had to come up with a hurricane survival plan on short notice I turned to baking too! But the only recipe I was using involved herbs and a zig-zag.
i love cooking.....and gingersnaps sound yummy............i think i'm going to go make me a pineapple upside down cake......been meaning to do it for a couple days now.............owning your own resturant.....what a nightmare, my wife did resturant management for a couple years, have no ideas about across the pond though
I rarely cook though I like to, and live in a house with two cats one named Pixel and the other New Cat or just Cat. We were having a week of great a new cat what the hell do we call it , so New Cat stayed as the name.
Hehe, definitely a bad idea then.Originally Posted by keiko
i mostly bake cakes or muffins < ya a grown man bakin :PPPPP
but hey it gets rid of stress for me ,my mom use the make all sort of breads when she was stressed ,or just felt like bakin for all the family ..
i think its a self survival mode some peeps go into too distract them selves from the things around them that cause;s the most stress ,
right now im under ALOT of stress and wanna make stuff but i dont like it too hot ,and the gas bills even now im gettin cuaght up from winters bills
but ya i like too bake when i can and not just to make dinner and stuff
Apparently onion is particularly bad for cats and can damage nerves around their brain especially... if your cat eats lasagne, I hope it doesn't have any onion in it.Originally Posted by keiko
And if it does, I will eat any lasagne you bake. I adore the stuff.
And I'll have a plate of those ginger snaps for dessert.
And as for baking when you're stressed or upset, look at it this way: At least you're not comfort eating nonstop. We can do the eating bit for you, haha. )
wait... you're not keiko anymore???
then just who are we talking to missy?
starting restaurants is tough stuff... most fail because the owners don't realize that they don't return a profit for the first 7 years or so... super high overhead... that's what makes francise restaurants so successful, lower overhead...
it's a tough, tough business to get into, i wouldn't wish it on anyone, and hope never to return to working in one...
buuuuut, if you've got the persistence, and drive go for it!
ask BC, he knows who I am. well actually, now that i've got it all baked, i can't stop eating it!
I'm making butter cookies tomorrow to take down to the grandparents' place. And I'm sending oodles to my airforce buddy in Germany and mt ex roomamte in LA.
Amelia, I'm willing to custom bake anything you want for a BB Bear and a stack of stickers.
