My mom used to make me these little English muffin pizzas that were so yummy. I made myself some a few months back and they were total comfort food. Does anyone else know what I am talking about here?

no but sounds good
Yes, sure have, those were good.
they anything like those bagel pizzas?
Helllllll ya! I forgot about those. My mom would always use spaghetti sauce and like salami because she wouldn't have pizza sauce or pastrami. My son will thank you for that reminder.
You take an english muffin or a bagel, split it, then add pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, whatever you'd like really and put it in the oven and let the cheese melt. Same thing as those bagel bites but a lot bigger, hehe.
I will have to try this...sounds good. Thanks for the idea.
yeah, can we try... when are you calling us? =)
My comfort food would have to be Potato Cakes...Take Mashed potatoes, Add some minced up onions and some flour....Heat some oil and fry them....DAMN good anytime...Always a way to get rid of left over Taters,,,
yeah I make those, I love 'em, aslo Perogies are one fo my faves..gotta do it with salt pork or bacon and onions and lots of sour cream
On a bit of a tangent, English muffins have always baffled me. I can guarantee you will never find anything resembling an English muffin in England.
I daresay there are several equivalents. I'm always curious about skewed versions of my own culture encountered abroad. I was in Hungary a while back, and apparently 'English pubs' were the height of chic. Out of curiosity I visited one and it's kind of surreal finding a bad pastiche of a seedy English boozer being the height of high fashion.
I grew up poor so it's pinto beans fried potatoes and cornbread...
That's also why I grew up fat I guess...
I always figured the misnomer was justified by the existence of crumpets.Originally Posted by Caligula

english pubs are a fad here too I mean there are good private pubs then there are mainstream pubs like a franchise...but then again in Canada we have alilttle better brew....you know what Monty Python said about US beer.."it's like sex ina a canoes it fucking close to water" but seriously the US does have some good micro breweries....
