Oh, very nice!
flatbed lathe.
many hours as a kid learning to use one
We, uh, need more examples...in order to properly offer advice. Yeah.
nice.
a "boring" machine. it must be very dull.Originally Posted by episode allah

If you happen to have any photos of whats inside a person, that may be nice to see too!Originally Posted by Ajax Knucklebones

Billy, you are incredibly beautiful and I've taken your picture before and I'd be happy to do it again.
That said, this model culture BS makes me want to smash all my cameras and stab forks in my eyes. I like to photograph people who are interesting and look good, not just people who look good. And that is getting harder and harder to find, as more and more people answer "What do you do?" with "I'm a model" and not, for example, "I'm just that cool" or "I do X and so creative thing".
I'm gonna have to get you in front of my camera one day. Both video and still.
I'm just that cool (dunno about modeling etc)Originally Posted by Amelia G

PS: Cool Pic btw. I don't know what they mean by promoting yourself, but if it gets another hairless cat to SF I'm all for it. Ignore the static, ya know?
I like it in a steampunk wifebeater kinda way

Two of my really good friends just moved to LA after being on a reality show. They are finding it interesting that the kids are afraid of dealing with them... thinking that they are going to snap their head off like other scenester internet models. When they find out that they are nice, they are SHOCKED!
This scene drama has got to stop. Divas for no apparent reason.
the machinery doesnt look well with the gino look!
Blech, 'promotion'...
I'm at that generation of the local scene where everyone I knew when I got into it is either gone or getting into something related 'professionally'. Everyone and their mom is suddenly a 'gothic model', taking generic pictures with anyone with a camera that's willing to photoshop their name with a little circled 'c' on the results for their 'portfolios', pasting 600*90 banners with their face and stage name below every 'thanks for the add' comment they redundantly spew out.
I don't 'disapprove' per sé, but it is becoming rather typical.
Lighting and pose are nice...
That picture is awesome. Very nice. I for one, would like to see more, and I'm sure I'm not alone....
Thanks all, I'm always doing shoots related to my fashion stuff, I figured I might as well.
I always tried to market my business and keep myself and my partner out of it, what do you guys think about adding a more personal feel to all of it? Do the people making a product/garment really matter at all?
I once saw a front-page article on Yahoo news that informed us that true-to-life mormon polygamists where selling some sort of hand-made robes.
I've since decided to advertise anything I sell as being the fashion products of atheistic amsterdam-born pansexual polyamorous paraphiliac druggies. I'm sure it'll be a headline.
Yes! Owners matter a lot. Its nice to know the people behind a company, I actually sway more towards certain on-line stores because of the owners being so friendly and its nice to put a face with a "brand", it feels more personable and people may feel more of a connection to the company that way. Customer connection adds to more sales (I know I sure end up spending more money at certain places) and word of mouth. Hope that made sense, I'm a little tired.Originally Posted by antiseptic fashion
I'm finding that it does. Just go for it man. You're good peeps and the economy is rough. A personal touch, for better or worse, seems to enhance business. I think this goes double for visuals. You are doing it to aid your own creative work. That's a good thing imo.Originally Posted by antiseptic fashion

That picture is a bit too dark, but nice quality, not sure what I'm looking at
Thanks for sharing that pic... I think its gorgeous... and I'm surprised that NO post production went into the shot. I love the lighting, and how it brings out the angles.
My dad's got a lathe, he got the tips of 2 of his fingers twisted off. They reattached them...by the same dr that did the first human hand transplant
(it was FUNNY as hell seeing my dad on Rx pain killers)
...
But yes AF, I agree with what Synthetic Shock said.
I think it causes the consumer to develop an emotional investment of sorts, toward your company...
You should most definitely share some of your modeling work.
(the majority of the elder men in my family have lost fingers and/or digits.)
very pretty...pose almost has same feel as that logo from late 70's early 80's for stereo fun,the armchair guy ya know. very retro industrial and sexy lighting...more more please
