yes. sort of.
in a stupid way but yeah.
soma - you just KNOW we're all trying to think of mental pictures, don'tcha...
Personally, I think it's a safe assumption that if someone has worked in 20-odd countries in the same number of years, there are probably points of disagreement with the IRS.
I notice Amelia pleads the 5th on her own question... was it that terrible to run the first lesbian dominatrix protection racket in Pennsylvania?
(motto: "Missed payment? Miss Pain.")
define illegal.

no, I leave that up to the federal reserve.
Never enough to justify a life of crime, but the odd dollar here or there may have found it's way to me. Panhandling was easier and had a better payout when I was young and non threatening.
You were non threatening... When, we demand an answer to that despicable act.. I thought i heard it all..Originally Posted by Cafe_Post_Mortem

Sorry I though I was past the statute of limitations o having been young.
And i am still non threatening, just in a more menacing way than I used to be.
nope, according to my standards I've earned every penny the proper way
I sold a little weed in high school.
....
I'm going over things in my head wondering what actually made me Money and not just acquired me stuff.
I've picked a pocket or two, just to see if it could be done. Haven't actually swiped anything from any tills. never broken into safes or banks.
did contemplate the idea of being and international cat burglar or a jewel thief. in one desperate hour of my former relationship, i contemplated how to rob the nearest bank and take off to Germany before i was caught. but realising that it's a very hard job to do as just one person, and i don't want to a) have to share the loot, or b) share the blame, it would be just an all around bad idea.

smart people almost never commit crimes, although they are the only one's that would be able to successfully carry them out. But they are able to see that the variables are not in their favor and the reward is not worth the risk.
Just by weighing the factors by each value and relating one to the other, let me ask you this: would you be willing to serve time in prison for 10 years if it meant you were guaranteed to get $100,000?
If you answered yes, then you need to go from there and calculate what the actual odds are for either one of these circumstances to happen. If you get down to the point where each one has a fifty percent probability rate, then that would be the minimum worth/risk factor that you may be willing to go for.
If you answered no, then chances are no odds will be sufficient to convince you it is a worthwhile endeavor.

Being a banker, I can tell you that within 2 minutes, at any moment, I could steal at least $200 K in cold cash. But, like MG says, if you have just a little smarts you can see how unless it's a momumental amount ($200 K isn't) than it's not worth the risk. Besides, the bigger the haul, the more the FBI is out to get your ass. People ask me all the time, "How do you work with all that cash and you're not tempted to take any?" MG has your answer.
Quick story for those who want to read on. About ten years back, one of the branches at a bank I worked at, got robbed. Some young adult came in and demanded money. He wasn't too professional and the idiot only made off with some boxes of coin (haha! btw). The people at the bank saw the license plate and called the cops. The cops actually made it to the robbers house BEFORE the robber even got home from "the heist". Arrested the guys right when they pulled in to their driveway. Turns out, the getaway driver was a dude who worked as a teller from my bank and got fired due to incompetence. Apparently he still used that wonderful incompetence when he helped stage this robbery.
The amazing thing to me, after all these years in banking, is you rob a convienence store, it's a felony. Rob a bank and it becomes a federal crime in which you'll do more time. Both "jobs" will probably net you the same haul, yet over and over people rob banks, get caught and do harder time. Stupid.
sold acid in high school. funded by my monthly welfare cheque! oh ya
the few years i was actually in high school i sold semi-illegal substances and put all the money in my college fund which i later used to buy a car

i believe in skimming a little off the top for yourself..corporations dont take care of you on their own
My main source of income at the moment is "under the table" the actual job I'm doing isn't illegal, but the fact I ain't tellin' Uncle Sam about it is.
sold weed to support my own addiction and use of it.
I need to start selling weed considering I don't smoke it I'd make a fortune
If I was a woman I would be a hooker. A expensive one.
lol. I love the eyebrows on that MS smiley. did you know I own four different school uniforms? I collect them. I'm getting another one after I get my debts paid off from not working for six weeks.Originally Posted by Mindgames

i've considered being a prostitute. wouldn't do it though. i've considered it quite a few times, actually. because i'm fucking poor.
*thinks back to life of crime*
yeah, i wish i was still doing that. i could use the money D:
i'm poorer than i've ever been, it's sad.
and i don't have my mom to run to anymore.
i'll have to start panhandling. those people actually make a lot of money. it's getting cold though...
Yes in the past. Illicit substances. I take no moral or ethical responsibility for what people want to do with their own lives and bodies. I'd do it again. This not illegal in Sydney if you adhere to the regulations. Come on down. I myself feel sorry for the working girls tho - haven't partaken myself but might in the future.Originally Posted by soma_stardust

i used to sell drugs, but the dude i was getten them off got pinched and put away for 5 years.after that there was a lot of heat around,so i said fuck it.
I think the I.R.S. would consider any amount of money you earn under the table that is not reported to them as illegal funds (I'm guilty - who isn't when it comes to that but I'm not condoning doing it - saavy?).
Haven't thought of doing anything illegal to earn money, but its tempting in this crap economy (in the end it is not worth doing as the Court System isn't going to give you any pity and the D.A. will use your high profile case to win a re-election - lol) ....
America needs a lot of band aids right now (we help out globally but we currently can't help ourselves) ~
