Or would you hide out, move away etc?
I'd stay and defend. Up untill the point that defeat is almost certain (ex: the Berliners staying and fighting in the city even though everything else was already gone.)

I wouldn't "stay" to defend.
I'd go mobile, using guerilla tactics, and go where ever I could do the most damage.
my countries worth defending...........I'd stay
I fuckin' defend that shit! Hell, I'd even use Canada as a shield if I had too.
It depends on who was invading. If I liked them better then I would defect to their side.
national pride only extends to practicality. Most likely I'd wait to see how it played out and then if we did get conquered, assuming that I wasn't summarily executed, I'd decide if I wanted to fight or flee.
You have to take these things into consideration, it's no time for a knee jerk reaction.
PS. Buster Friendly, I see that someone has been watching Red Dawn!
What country?
Agree with Buster on this one.
Stay on the move, hit hard and fade into the dark before they can retaliate
I run and hide, thats what i do best
Red Dawn motherfuckers... Red Dawn...
[QUOTE=Morning GloryPS. Buster Friendly, I see that someone has been watching Red Dawn![/QUOTE]
Red Dawn nothing!
I'm thinking Charlie- The Man In The Black Pajamas.
I'm thinking Mao on the Long March.
I'm thinking WINNERS, who got the job done.
There's a book I think it's called "The Tunnels of Chu Chi" about how the Viet Cong dug tunnels under EVERYTHING, I think everyone should read this book. Shows you what humans are capable of when they want something bad enough. (National Independence in that case.)
I suppose if you had to take a movie reference, First Blood wouldn't be too bad. A slight exaggeration of what one highly trained guerilla fighter could do, but a decent start.

zombies > politics
axa = win!
Olix your country that you live in would you defend it?
my country is worth defending as my forefathers did. It is all in the matter of that tactic fits the terrain that you are in. Like my own Family who fought in Revolutionary War , Appalachia hit and run works well. Major Ferguson issued a challenge to the Patriot leaders to lay down their arms or he would, "Lay waste to their country with fire and sword." Being largely Scotch-Irish frontiersmen, we really didn't take that to well about 1000 of them matched on Ferguson catch him on mountain top pretty much destroyed his forces. Hell we didn't want to gave quarter to the British, but finally had to
Go all out hillbilly tactics, overmountain men
I live 8 timezones from the place on my passport, so 'stay' and 'your country' are mutually exclusive. Would I defend where I am now? No. Would anyone want to invade it? Fck no.
Sorry, but I don't have a country....
Meh; the only difference between a new occupying force and the current local government is that the latter is settled in - otherwise they're both just groups of people I never really had anything to do with trying to tell me what to do on account of claiming to 'rule' the space I live in.
Maybe if they were particularly tyrannical or personally pissed me off real bad I'd go terrorrist on them on that account - moving away might be easier, but I can be painfully stubborn and enjoy raising hell - but I certainly wouldn't lift a hand for the old guard just because they've been there longer.
id go underground and come back after everyone has killed each other
I'd want an underground city to be built. Fuck this!
..sorry..watching too many movies lately, regarding doom for the planets and having to hide and build an underground empire. -_-
I have no real choice at the moment.... If I had a choice, I'd just find safe places to watch the mayhem from.
as glorious an idea it would be to go out in a blaze of glory for "god and country" etc. etc. the truth is, once the mayhem has settled, and we've either won or lost, it's going ot suck. And honestly, i can count the people i would stay to defend on one hand so frankly, i would stay to defend them and if i fail at doing so then suppuku sounds just fine to me.
What I hate is that no one in this country speaks Native American languages. Learn one or go home!
A lot of Native Americans don't either. Kind of had to do with the fact that white people would beat them if they didn't. How'd that look for the "English only" campaign to show a bunch of before and after (anglo American assimilation) shots common at the Indian Schools?
I know. I was just making a point about those who spout such swill as, "If you're going to live here speak English."Originally Posted by Morning Glory
It's short-sighted, misguided and often downright hateful. I mean, do most of us speak one of the indigenous languages of the Americas? I know I don't.
Quite sad that Tibetans get tortured and killed for speaking their own language in their own country, too.
Oh wait - it's not their own country; it's China.
I'm finally getting around to this thread, and posting shortened answers because I'm feeling lazy.
If invaded by another country, I would need to investigate to see if we'd had it coming, but I'd still fight to keep myself and mine alive and well wherever we ended up as a result of the changing times. My "country" is me.
If invaded by zombies, I'd be the first one to pick up a weapon! (That's assuming I didn't intentionally trigger the Zombie Apocalypse just to ensure that all my preparations weren't for nothing.)
If invaded by extraterrestrials, they're probably just here to take me home, and I'd willingly climb aboard.
Haha. I'm with you there. A guy on the street was once CONVINCED I was a Martian. I feel bad because I played along, but he seemed to find it quite validating.Originally Posted by Aza
I stay and defend especially if extraterrestrials invaded...............humans have made making a mess of things an art.............time to expand thier horizons
and it would be a good time to put aside our hatred for each other and see the wonderfull things that can be accomplished when 6 billion people collectively focus on hating the same thing
That, and if earth got invaded as a whole you'd hardly have anywhere to flee to.Originally Posted by Mr Karl
