I can't go past Pinhead myself.
Pinhead
Freddy Krueger
Jason Voorhees
Michael Myers
The Tall Man
Dr. Hannibal Lecter
Vlad Tepes/Dracula
Leatherface
Candyman
...someone else?
I can't go past Pinhead myself.
i always loved chucky, his bride was awsome too.
cant wait to see the one w/ their kid in it, what was it called...
Being the sci-fi freak I am, my boogeyman would be either the alien (from the first movie) or one of dem infected folk from "Twenty Eight Days Later".
... I guess.
Honourable mentions to all that I couldn't fit in the poll - Frankenstein's monster, the Creeper, etc etc etc
my fav is Sloth, but thats not from a scary movie haha
As much as I love vampires, I voted for Freddy, simply because of his knack for squeezing in cheesey one-liners whilst disemboweling teenagers...he's the man !
Well, it's going to throw me so far into the geek barrel I can't even see the light of day, but I have to give a nod to old Pumkin head.
His poem was cooler than Freddy, enjoyed his work more than Pinhead, could climb trees better than Lector, and generally looked cooler than Myers. Sure he didn't have thier long carreers, but I suspect that is because Pumkinhead was just an old hillbilly at heart and couldn't be bothered.
Oh, and no one ever, ever sang Dream warriors for one of his moves.
I've been a Jason fan since gradeschool
I love Freddy, just because he scares me so much!
Not sure. They all have their merits.
I've got a tie between Pinhead and the Tall Man. I adore Pinhead, but the Tall Man makes me scream like a little baby. The Beach Side funeral home in Satellite beach does an accurate representation of morning side right down to the 8ft tall lurch looking motherfuker who goes out of his way to scare kids. Nothing more frightening than hte Tall Man screamin "boy, get off the lawn!" from the front stoop of the funeral parlour...
K
ps, what ever happened to Darth Vader as the super villian?
yeah darth vader kicks ass and he has the best gothic/industrial wardrobe ever
the lepurcon... horrible spelling i know... it freaked me out how he used his magic to torture people with what they wished for, eventually killing them after. the swelling boobs and butt until it exploded, that's just gross.
Vlad is the greatest of all times... IMO, of course...
Freddy rocks!
...But there's just something about Pinhead, you know that deep down he really is the most evil thing in existance!
He rules over Hell for feck sake!
Everyone else on the list just lives there...
PaulCat.
Alex from Clockwork Orange is not a true bogeyman, but the mindfuck aspect of that movie puts him at the top of my list.
OEC
The Tall Man. My mother allowed to to watch horror films as a child, which was awesome since we both loved them. The only movie to freak me out was Phantasm, especially the part when the monster arms come wrap around the kid, while he is in bed. I would force her to do a "bed check", which entailed her checking under the bed, the closet, etc. We laugh about it now, but it was the only movie to ever freak me out. Mom rules
Yes, I have a soft spot for the original Phantasm too.
Angus Scrimm, the Tall Man - has an interesting bio: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0780133/bio
But neither the Tall Man or Michael Myers (Halloween series) have got a vote
You guys are all wrong it is all about Dr. Hannibal Lector he is by far the best because it makes you start to think about what YOUR doc is thinking about. I guess I like him because I beleive in cannibalism too. So everyone who didnt vote for Hannibal is the wrong ones, lol.
A tie between Pinhead and Vlad...
i'de say vlad but only coz i was recently in whitby abbey where he lived and he's real i tell you
I was a tie for me between Pinhead and Vlad, but I had to go with the man of pleasure and pain himself.
Vlad yes he is my fav but if I wanna get scared Id have to say Pinhead

Hannibal the Cannibal...Wondrous intellect, good breeding... and a sickness that is far beyond *skin deep*
