i just turned around to hear the word Philosophy followed by the words Make-up.....

i turn around and see an info-mercial about some kind of make-up products or whatever the fuck there trying to sell....


it's called Philosophy.....i honstly said to the tv " You,GODDAMNED commercial whore,i hope you get stoned"......

what the hell is with people patenting words like this,such as Hilton trying,or succedeing in with a patent on her dumb catch phrase...

i need to hug another stranger,i'm not happy today anymore...

well the thing i was pointing to was their use of such a general everyday term such as Philosophy.....

are they just running out of unpatented names,or what?....

well, in actuality, they cannot patent the actual name philosophy.....this case was argued when spike (stereotype abusing hack!) lee tryed suing tnn for changing their name to spike tv.

the packaging can be, the makeup(as long a sit's not made with natural materials) can be but the word philosophy...annot. just like paris hilton with that stupid thats hot line? she didnt come up with it....and if it was copyrighted, Imagine how much howard stern woul have to pay for playing it back daily. (just like he does with richard simmon's phrases like milky sauce and chubby pickle-lol)
imagine how shocked I was when i found out my usuall catch phrase of pimp became main stream?

but yeh, they cant lay claim to the word philosophy-only the packaging. woulnt it suck if they could though?

1. the original name for "mambo" was "cat"
2. the main company responsible for manufacturing perfume? DUPONT.

see. most prfumes are of the same basic ingredients....scented oils
(extracted from plants)
pheromones
(usually synthesized but sometimes not and if thats the case it's usually either cat or horse pheromones.)
and alcohol.

most of these ingredients occur in nature so byt hat, it is impossibel for a perfume company to patent a fragrance (because you can make it at home)
so they patent the names and packaging. they cannot patent words found in the english language but they can patent the way the word's designed or how it looks. (i.e it's okay to have a product named candies but not to havea design similar to the design it is for the current candies company and market it that way cus then you run into copyright laws.) Just like there are other companies known as blueblood but they dont have the same design to their logos as this one does.

hey. recently i gave up on the idea of a career in IT or writing and i've been doing a course in engineering. real bare-bones basic engineering, making shit with lathes and drill presses and so forth. and i've been hanging out with a very different class of people.

some of them can't count. i shit you not. i found myself explaining ADDITION to them like it was the fucking Eleusinian mysteries, in Attic Greek. it's a bit of a change of pace from most of my former friends, who could at least define the word "postmodernism".
