    Default "W" mag goes punk....for 12 pages...

I'm a fashion hound so I get "W" magazine. To my utter shock and surprise..they have a 12 page layout with this BEAUTIFUL model with an assymetrical cut, spiky Blue and green hair, and tattoos (you can see one on her wrist but you know editing..). She is wearing haute coutre...Chanel, Gucci, MaxMara, etc...
I'm like FINALLY...perhaps the fashion world is coming around to the fact that there are different types of models and cultures that need to be displayed instead of the expressionless coathangers that we see in most high fashion mags and in fashion shows.

The name of the shoot is "Night Train" and it's by Craig Mcdean.

    Wow.

yeah...that shit has been going on in europe for quite some time now... only problem is that people who participate in it have no real conception of what punk could possibly be and do it for the pseudo-variety of fashion trends, that is brought on by none other than the designers who try to appeal to a larger crowd to sell more.

I'm not a magazine person, to tell the truth.

If I can scan them (which I can) I'll post them so you can see what I mean. It's the LARGE edition of W magazine. I mean, this thing is like 500 pages. Sept 2005

it's good to see that the mainstream is finally embracing underground DIY fashions like gucci and chanel. the civil rights and radical movements may have started forty years ago, but after all that hard work, finally the disillusioned voices of the street are being heard.

Well W (and most fashion mags) tends to have some great work...if you like that kind of eye candy anyhow.

Shit..you wouldn't catch me dead in gucci. I love Chanel, though..she has some pretty nice black dresses (and some KILLLER red lipstick..heck, I used to work for Chanel so I can't say anything bad, really). Other than that, it's lipservice, crimsonempress, Betsey Johnson, and....I hate to say it...Hot topic (oh, the shame!...)
(I just remembered on fetishgossip someone typcasting us as a bunch of NIN Hot topic wearing wannabes...of course, I had to comment and set the record straight on that one...)

Sunkarma, you piqued my curiosity, so I decided to take a gander at the issue while I was at work today. Rather nice images throughout. I just wish they were a little less dark. A couple of images you couldn't even tell she had color in her hair.

Oh, and scabre, it may believe it is a US mag.

I wish they had these mags in Australia. *sigh* all the good fetish mags and stuff are in the States or the UK. I don't think I've seen a single decent one in any nearby newsagency here.
