Default How do you recover from trips, shows, vacations...

So I spent most of this week at a tradeshow. It was all sorts of interesting and fun and useful, but I am totally wrecked now.

What are some of your favorite ways to re-energize after that sort of exertion?

Sleep, sex, spicy food, tv, dr. pepper by the gallon.

I just treat it like depression. Voila! it works!

I usually keep such a screwed up schedule that my body doesn't know what to do no matter where I am.

Well before the event, I make sure my house is clean so that when I get home I have nothing to do but pour a nice cold drink and stare at the wall for a few hours. BY morning I'm usually fine.

Fall on my bed with a book. Or in the bath with a book, slightly more carefully. Usually by the end of any show or whatnot my feet are aching, so getting off them is a GOOD thing.

I just sit in my basement with a stiff drink in hand talking to the severed heads I have in the freezer.

This is why I need to be less of a messy girl.

due to the need for a clean house I have a 'mess' room so on returning from any trip my house is sterile and I am free to read while playing music then watch a movie... followed more or less with sex

Ah, I live out of a suitcase so I feel your pain. I find that the sooner I put away all the shit I have packed from the trip and do all my laundry the sooner I feel back to normal. Because if it's sitting there all packed up you can just feel it tormenting and laughing at you till it's done.....

Well that NY to London flight just kills me every time!! That's because I NEVER sleep in London. Not at all. I never recover from those trips!!! There is no way to recover....

Next time I think I will try something closer, like a quiet trip to Vermont...

You always have to take a vacation after the vacation.
Two days after you get back, to just sit in bed and veg out...
Then you'll be ready to get back to the grind.
