I must confess I have an internet crush on an ex co-worker. So it's not entirely creepy. It's not may fault either. Some time after she had left the job, a fellow co-worker said to me "remember so-and so? she posted a funny picture on my [popular social-networking site.] That co-worker was one of my contacts on said site, and so I went to see the picture, but it was unavailable. But I did find out that the girl had a website, nothing shall we say scandalous, but just a blog. Needless to say at this point, I subscribed to it and check it out from time to time.

My hands really are tied here. I couldn't imagine sending her an email saying "remember me we used to work together several months back?" Well, maybe I could have, but as time has passed on, that conversation becomes more and more implausible, and it's been about a year now and I don't even work at that job, or talk to that other co-worker anymore.

i had a crush on this lass from Atlanta a few years back. lost contact when she moved to Texas, but briefly had contact 2 years back again when we were both planning to go to a mutual friends wedding, she couldn't make it unfortunately due to the expense of getting to Detroit along with funding her studies. i do hope she is well and good, and missed a great wedding. i do think about her from time to time, but i am a firm believer what's meant to be is meant to be.

Due to a couple odd experiences, I'm very weary of "inet crushes". I'd go with what BP said. I do appreciate the interactions though.

tbh we arranged to meet a few times, one was at a cramps gig in Atlanta, but some insane woman totalled my car at the time, and i could live without a car if it wasn't for the need to get into work earlier than public transport runs. she had my phone number (we exchanged a few phonecalls) but she never called.

in all honesty i hope she's found someone who's right for her and hasnt given a second thought.

I am prone to getting little lusty crushes on people on the internet. I think its somewhat easier to get a real fine intellectual connection with someone without the seeming complication of having to touch or really know them. Its appealing to me because I've always been prone to being a bit disgusted/afraid of other humans, and partly because I am not, by very many definitions, a very beautiful perfect lady. That makes it easier for someone to get to like me without having the barrier of being put off by my shape or tone of voice.

That aside, pictures on the internet appeal to my proneness to being intrigued by the beauty or form of someone. There's always this pitifully thin line between being attracted, drawn to, appreciative of depicted beauty and actually having an actionable crush.

It's hard to have a crush on someone that you don't know in person. Especially via internet, alot of people aren't how they potray themselves to be, both looks and personality wise.

I can agree with you in a lot of ways.
People on the internet present themselves with a picture... usually putting their best 'foot... or face' forward... and words that have been carefully thought of and properly placed.

Sometimes it makes the person reading the profile/post.... WOW, I could really jive with this person.... I need someone like this in my life...

Sometimes what they have ***fits*** the need within... as we are NONE perfect, and are constantly seeking **something*** or on occasions ANYTHING....
When it appears that we've found something that makes something else better....
We gravitate to it.... to varying degrees.
