    Default Something new and exciting

I just watched the trailer and loved it.

    www.apple.com/trailers/wb/corpse_bride

Also heard that Peter Jackson is trying to make the prequel to "the Lord of the Rings" aka "The Hobbit".

    I'm SO excited...

Well the "Charlie" remake is something else, you can really only give remakes a 50/50 shot at being good. But the clips from "Corpse" all look very good, and you get a chance to obsess over a new animated flix. Works for me.

the hobbit is old news. I wish that he would make the silmarillian movie, but I don't think that's going to be possible.

That movie would sorta suck. I was debating this with a friend, and after reading through half of it together, trying to find good scenes, she convinced me that there are too few easily translatable scenes; on the other hand, if they did a good job, I would cream myself.

    silmarillian based movie.
Blind Guardian did a CD largely based off the silmarillian called "nightfall on middle earth" and it was pretty rockin. But Im babble-filled.

yeah i don't know about that. i also don't really know abotu cd based on other shit, most of it is like really generic and unless it said it was based on that, you wouldn't have known by listening to it.

If that project happens...it has been talked about from what I hear...it would basicly be a composite of that particular work and other tales from Middle Earth...almost a "best of" kinda thing tied together by an over all plot or story arc. Needless to say that's a hell of a challenge but not one above the writers he works with. However it's not 100% known he has the energy to take on another mammoth film project like the LotR movies were. Could be a good decade before it happens at the earliest.

Realisticly...New Line may ask ole Peter to either write or help produce more Middle Earth related movies...kinda like the Bond franchise in a way. Similar talk has spread about the future of Star Wars once FOX kills Lucas...

I like the idea personally but it'd take quality stories and direction to keep the whole thing from being cheap knock offs (though in the case of star wars it'd be an improvement)

I'd love to see movies about other aspects of Middle Earth just as I'd like to see Star Wars movies without the lame Jedi ruining it all.

The Hobbit may not happen since New Line does not hold the rights to it...I think Warner Brothers has the rights to that at the moment. Dunno if it's been sorted out yet but I know it was a massive road block last year.

I thought Charlie wasn't a remake, but a story talking about what happened when Charlie grew up? I could be wrong.
