God I hate Topeka

Today was our election day for mayor and a few city council positions. That wasn't really the important part, the important part of the ballot was something that we're really getting a lot of negative attention for. The guy that runs godhatesfags.com and other sites like that had managed to get one of his granddaughters to run for city council. Also we had on the ballot whether or not we should repeal this law that if you voted no then gays couldn't be fired from jobs or lose housing in the city because of sexual orientation. But if you voted yes on the ballot, then it was perfectly legal to discriminate against gays.

Since some of these douchebags go to my school. I have to deal with them on a daily basis. They even made it into last week's issue of Time magazine.

I hate Fred Phelps im supprised noone has tried to burn his house down or something. I think that kind of measure on the ballot would be unconstitutional under the civil rights actand you can bet the if it passes the ACLU will give the city hell until they change it

nope Fred Phelps is real hes constantly being watched by the ADL and the ACLU so you can get reliable info on him from their respective websites

Update.

The Phelps lady lost, and you can't discriminate against gays in Topeka........... so I guess it's ok for now.
