The Times

when there was never a dull moment,never a stagnant mind.Money,or the lack there of,never stopped,nor hendered anything.There was always fresh gas and a nice evening sky.Never a quite moment,always engines blowing to life,always beer cans popping on belt buckles.Never too far away ,a shed,a garage,a kitchen with like-minded folk all addicted striving for the same thing,that one smell,that one sound,that one big ass smile.

Ready or not,there was always a gathering.Maybe in an old field,maybe in busy parking lot,no one ever cared,we ran the town,everybody brought out their toys,there rides,the LIFES.Pulling up to the crowd finding a place to park,seeing the stares,the pointing fingers,the familer faces popping beer bottles at an ever amazing pace.the second you pull the key,you start to hear those familer sounds of the lot,Jim and Betty always dragged their huge trailor with the PA speakers playing some Buick 55's ,Twenty Flight Rock,or Stray Cats.The Chatter of guys asking a whole number of questions,but all on the same level,the still ariving cars gassing it for show,maybe even shooting some flames(always the crowd favorite).

Walking around the lot,seeing all the familer faces,everybody knew everybody.maybe you traded them a rear end for a frame,or just helped chop the lid on his new Merc'. it was like a big family,all on the same agenda,no dramatic bullshit,no complaining about life,just smiles and gas.

There were always some oldtimers have a ball dancing away near Jim & B's music trailor,always fun to give one of those ladies a dance,and boy can they dance.Maybe go grab a float at the drive-in across the street,sitting back watching the spectical go by,it's an amazing thing,people of all ages,all nationalities,all...anything!,just having a grand old time,no kids with shitty ,intimidating, attitudes,just a bunch of crazy people who live for this kind of thing.

How I long for the Times,again
