Default the cake is not a lie

okay so the pay pal account is up and running. noobcakery@gmail.com (noobcakery on paypal). pre orders go live tomorrow.

    *stress*

i really hope i'm not making a colossal mistake. my left eye has developed a twitch and i have this image in my head of a very large bomb going off.

first thing tomorrow i sterilise the kitchen and start making peanut butter, ginger, snow ball and maybe the last batch of egg nogg cookies (depending on the egg nogg).

    *twitch*

i haven't figured out about sending stuff over seas yet. bear with me. we're not official till March 7th (that's MegaCon) when i figure it out i'll let you know, in the mean time domestic orders only.

    so?

Everything new, especially business' seem so risky in the beginning. I know when I opened up 1 one my business', It seemed like such a huge overwhelming experiance, I had this really shit looking website because it was made in like 20 minutes, I didn't think it would go very far, and less than 24 hours I got an order.

Then a day later 3 more...and they kept coming, so I made the site better, which was risky in itself..then even more came..now they wont stop coming.

I bet you will be fine, you have enough people pulling for you, and It's a great idea, a fun play on words and who doesn't like cookies?

But hey..another play on words and a desert to add to your menu:
    Colossal Cake Mistake!

It would just be pictures of me and crumbs... and not that many crumbs, as I'm not a very messy eater.

right now, in the pre order fund raising bake sale stage -- which is also the best way for me to figure out what the hell ppl are gonna want to see on the site when it goes live (soon!) -- one need only email requests to noobcakery@gmail.com. cookie, muffin and cup cake, orders are going by the dozen. a minimum donation to the noobcakery paypal accnt of $20 (per batch) covers supplies and at the moment most shipping. (send money - noobcakery@gmail - your email - amount - clicky)

the first dozen or so pre orders taken get cookies in hand painted collectors tins.

i know that right now the whole thing is a little complex. it'll get easier the more time i get to put into this project. bear with us.

-- hey while i've got everyone's attention -- what do you think of caffeinated snacks?

the cake is not a lie! in fact, this cake is great, its so delicious and moist!

Mr Awesome, once gain you have lived up to your name. i bow down before you. please allow me to humbly submit myself to your teachings.

Keiko, caffeinated snacks are approximately eleventy billion times cooler than even the coolest of uncaffeinated snacks. id preorder, but that seems somewhat silly until you have international orders sorted. and, im not holding my breath on that account - lets face it, generally the only cookes tough eough to travel that far are a lttle... yes. that sad, figure a way around that and youll be able to say that you have dedicated international customers which should impress the punters

once we go live next week (ish) there will be much marketing. i already have dozens of contacts lined up as well as many interweb friends to banner trade with. things are well in hand.

i was looking up the purchase of secret ingredients on amazon.com and ppl who bought things i was looking also bought polyhedral 7 piece translucent dice sets. i'm taking this as a good omen.

Maybe its the brides way of telling all the guests "eat me".

Question is . . What kind of cake is it?

gotta respect the talent and work that went into building such a fantastic cake, but it took nearly 20 says to build, those bottom layers gotta be stale, not to mention the wooden dowels holding the cake up, the whole thing is pretty but it doesn't strike me as very tasty. personally i'm a firm believer in food that looks good enough to eat, not necessarily good enough to put in a museum. infact i've found that if it looks like some kind of modern art project it's going to be barely palatable. i respect the cake of the bride as a fantastic feat, but i could never bring myself to eat it.
