    Default 411 obsolete?

when was the last time you used 411 to get a phone number? it's been years(at least 3) for me since I just look them up online now. especially since I bookmarked yellow pages in my cell phone's browser. 411 just seems like a waste of time to me now. when was the last time you used it?

I use it all the time for work. For myself, at home, hardly ever.

I don't call anyone whose phone number I don't know.

If I need to call them, then I already know their name and address, so there's really no reason why I would have that information, but not the phone number.

If I didn't know who or where I was trying to call or what the number was, well then, shit, I think I'd be just about out of luck.

and I really don't want to know what happens when I don't know who, where, what number or why I want to call someone. How would I even know that I wanted to call someone in that case?

and then it's not so far off that I wouldn't know who I was, where I am at, or how to get in touch with myself.

I've never used it. If I'm like, calling a company or for food, I used the phonebook....now I use the net. I'll look up people on the net, too, mostly just cause I can.

totally. when I first moved here, I had no internet access, and only my old (crappy browser)cell phone. using 411 on my cell phone is three freaking dollars every time, so believe you me, I used the phone book all the time.

I know that I've used it as a pop-culture slang term more than I've used the actual service.
