Just saw an episode of Secret Lives of Women and Roxy was one of the stories on the "Model" episodes. It was a good watch on day to day life of the things they do. Anybody else catch it? :^)

They contacted us wanting a bunch of free use of Forrest Black's and my photography. The kicker was that they were not even offering exposure. They wanted us to send them versions without our logo, so they could run the images uncredited. Did it look like it was at least good exposure for Roxy?

I was wondering why there was no mention of BB in the episode. And yes they made Roxy look like a grand alt. supermodel, so at least good to them on that one. Bad on the wanting to uncredit thing. Lame.

So in my opinion it was good exposure.

Did they mention any sites she is on or was their focus on something else? They seemed like they liked our work and wanted to use it but to promote something else.

No, no mention of any other sites as I recall...just a basic "who I am" thing. Showed her getting her Revolution tat, wanting life beyond modeling (clothing line), and basic life style things. Still wonder why they didn't want to credit anything from BB though..

Edit: They did show a bunch of other photos I havent seen before, but now that you mention it I don't recall credits for them either.

But letting someone else take my work and co-opt it into meaning something totally unrelated and giving nothing in return? Why would anybody roll with that, no matter how much the producers flattered their photography?

That kind of amazes me that someone would try. I do stuff for barter and exposure (for my ability to get shows and other shit done not specifically me). Almost never for money. If they took out all my bennies, I would be kind of annoyed. It's just basic fairness.

70% of my business' are all barters. 30% is the online shop. I like bartering much more because it reduces the hassle of money exchanging multiple hands to get what one wants. Easier to go, "Trade ya this for that!" :^)

I guess you can be happy that they had the sense to at least look into it and ask you guys for permission, instead of just not bothering and going ahead and doing it anyway. having to deal with that sort of thing I'm sure is a pain in the ass.

Basically every episode has a different theme.. the one Roxy was on was called "Specialty Models" (i think)... previous episodes were like a a high school principal who (when not working) was a KKK leader, lawyers who at night are dominatrixs, etc etc.

The show's tagline is "Don't judge a woman by it's cover".

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, Haven't been on much as of late.

Anywho her story didn't really have a "double-side" thing going. I think this episode actually didn't have any double stories come to think of it. (Wasn't really paying attention to the other ones, since they mix all of them up throughout the show)

She was pretty straight forward in the episode :^)
