The social climate in my former home town seemed to think that if you were wearing anything unusual or attention getting that you were only doing it to get attention. I feel as though I am in touch with various aspects of my character by not limitting myself to one prescribed style. Like Raza, U. and I don various "costume" to unleash different character traits. It has less to do with getting attention from others and more to do with paying attention to your inner bean. Attention from others is fuel for the fire, but not the sole reason. I belong wherever I am, deal with it. Unless I'm somewhere where I don't belong. Then I'll deal with it thank-you-very-much.

and that is the piont that was originally trying to be made! You feel comfortable being you...so no matter what you are wearing you act how you feel! Just so happens that you feel the same no matter what you are wearing!

If I'm at work in jeans and a tee-shirt, and I'm going to a show after work, I don't stay in th same garb because I'm still my daytime self. I can, and have, and I'm still me, but it's going through sort of a filter. It's all me in it's purest in any case, just different facets or different degrees. That's why I wear a more extreme costume for my stage show and why people have worn ceremonial masks and costumes for centuries.

it was a fundraiser for the "less fortunate" to help families put food on the table during thanksgiving and christmas. one of those things actually support... i just wish they would come up with better PC names for those that need a little help now and then...
