Homeless Teen: I Killed NYC College Student Out of Boredom

    Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Kevin Pravia, at right, with an unidentified female friend

NEW YORK — Prosecutors say a homeless man told them he killed a New York City college student because he was bored and had nowhere to go.

Prosecutors filed a signed statement in court in which Jeromie Cancel admits killing 19-year-old Kevin Pravia in the victim's Manhattan apartment last month. But Cancel pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday on a second-degree murder charge.

The 22-year-old Cancel is being held without bail.

Cancel's statement says he killed Pravia by stuffing a plastic bag in his mouth while holding his nose and choking him with a cord around his neck.

The statement says Cancel was leaving the apartment but didn't have anywhere to go. It says, "I was bored, so I decided to go back into the apartment and kill him."

Not so terrible as reasons for murder go, tbh. Beats rage, jealousy, spite, fear and moral indignation.

Maybe, since being homeless sucks so much, this dude just wanted to be somewhere with a roof over his head, 3 meals a day, and a hot shower. You know, somewhere like prison.
Or, maybe he was just that bored.
Who knows why people do the things they do?

Ever killer has their reason what ever logic they choose at the time. One thing no matter the reason, it's all about power. Power to take life, Power to end it. There are men and women in this world who have no price and can't be bargained with. They just wanna see the world burn to ashes. And we're not too far from doing it either the way things are now.

Logically, looking from the evolution point killer instinct should be in each of us.

More in males than females( ~90% of serial killers are males) because role in caveman's life was split on males hunting and females taking care of the cave.
All that alpha and omega thing. You guys are smart enough to figure it out by yourself instead of me explaining it on my broken english.

I bet it has to do with genetics as well.
For example know now that Neanderthals were freckles readheads. Lower melanin-concentration has the advantage that a sufficient concentration of important vitamin D can be produced under low light conditions and during Ice age we know that sky was covered with clouds.

There must be a more complex combination of genes that makes one a killer as well.

It's all in our jeans (genes).
