Bill Hicks was a great comedian. He was. Funny as shit, but I'm not gonna base my belief system on a what a comedian thinks about the world. To me that's just as bad as being a right-wing radical or left wing-liberal where you just blindly believe in everything your party stands for without ever asking questions.
Calling Bill Hicks a comedian is like calling Adolf Hitler a watercolor artist, or Jesus a carpenter.

As for would this place have been different under Gore?

    Nope.

Those sounded like political opinions there at the end.

Do you know a good way to express that? I do. Voting.

BP, lately you've really been a dick. I'm not just saying that to be mean. I'm saying that because it's the truth. I know things aren't great in your life, but guess what, genius? Nobody's life is great now so how about doing us a favor and stop being a dick for dick's sake.

Oh...And btw...Bill Hicks main job was a stand-up comedian. That was his occupation, that's what he got paid to do, and that's why he worked at places called "The Chuckle Hut". He didn't get paid to just make observations about the world around him. He got paid to make people laugh about his observations about the world around him. Yeah....Bare bones....That's what a stand up comedian does.

you want to know why i don't vote? because we the people could vote for anyone that we wanted to. We know that they are full of shit... and yet we still are going to go ahead and vote for the republicrats.

nothing is going to change, people are just going to do what they are told and maintain the system as it stands. so fuck it, why bother? all the votes are already being thrown away. I have respect for the people that really vote with their conscious and stand by their convictions, but it's only a symbolic act and they know it just as much as everyone else. That's why I say that I have better stuff to do, because anything else is more important than voting in an election that doesn't matter.

I'll say it again to be clear: If you don't vote independent, than you are throwing your vote away. I didn't do anything, but YOU helped contribute to the continual fucking over of America by endorsing it. So you are the problem.

Oh okay, if my present behaviour is dickish, I'll fall in lockstep with the others here and make bigoted remarks. Should I go with attacking black people or Jews?

Nah, I think Ajax got the point loud and clear BP, you're a big fat crybaby who tries to paint his detractors as racists, and antisemites when nothing even remotely resembling such sentiments have been presented here in a futile attempt to garner sympathy for your whinny sissyass self.

    God you're such a tool.

No, I didn't miss it. The point BP is you usually don't act like this. Those who make bigoted remarks here usually always do. I expect them to act the same, but I don't expect you to act so dickish when usually you're not. You're usually one of the one's on here with a voice of reason, but lately you've been on attack mode. Just because you don't call a person a certain "name" doesn't mean you're not acting mean spirited. I did call you a name and it wasn't even to be mean spirited. It was to let you know how you've been acting. If you don't think you've been acting this way, then carry on. I'm just telling you what I see.

No, you haven't been, but enough people have been in severe attack mode enough that I'm starting to think that maybe this isn't where I belong.

So what you're really saying when you said ***I'll say it again to be clear: If you don't vote independent, than you are throwing your vote away. I didn't do anything, but YOU helped contribute to the continual fucking over of America by endorsing it. So you are the problem.*** is that by doing nothing whatsoever is what you consider to be the REAL solution of America's problems.

What I'm saying is that I'd like to have a person of merit to vote for and not voting for someone that doesn't represent mine or the majority of American's interests, and not pandering to the rhetoric and arm-chair-politics/ flag wavers that have popped up out of the woodwork all the sudden trying to guilt trip me.

But even still it wouldn't make a difference if we all voted for mickey, or if none of us voted at all, because the citizens don't decide who the president is, the electoral voters do, and they are the only votes that count.

the whole thing is a scam, it's already decided who is going to win. I know that people want to believe in democracy and feel like what they say matters and that they have a role in the political process, so go ahead and push a button and pat yourself on the back if it makes you feel better. I prefer to deal with reality, which is that the president is some guy on TV that I will never meet and that I don't have to listen to, and has little power in actually passing laws or running the country.

For the record I like some of the things that Ron Paul has to say. not all of them, but he seems to be more in touch than the others. I liked Nader and I would have voted for him in the last election, but they wouldn't allow him on the ballot in my state.

BP, BP... sometimes I am too serious or sensitive for my own good that's a shame for me but while I appreciate the boquets bequeathed upon me I have to remember not to take the brickbats too hard. Look I'm drunk and sentimental right now - and I am disgusted by sentimentality... look what all you Americans have done to me with your.. your... WORDS damn you... damn you all to hell... you... planet of the apes makers... and not once but many times you made that film... don't look at me... don't look at me!!! yeah, that's a good point V. It is worth it to vote for your civil positions and city council people and to a lesser extent your congress and senators. and definitely when it comes to the propositions, that is about the highest amount of representative power that you have as a citizen to directly influence laws.

It's not that I don't care or that I don't know anything about politics, it's just that I feel like when it comes to the fed's it's pretty much been taken entirely out of the hands of the people, and totally corrupted and they just run their own show. But on the local level, which is really what effects people the most anyway, you still have a little bit of leverage to make a decision.

I'm glad it's over though, I imagine after work it's going to get really busy and gross. I can't wait for this shit to be over!
