DSL is infinitely better to Dial-up Modems.
DSL is infinitely better to Dial-up Modems.
Damn, going from DSL to dial-up has to be painful. My condolences.
Ooh, that's gotta hurt. Sorry that happened to you.
I feel for you... truly I do...
Try going from a fiber optic T-3 to dialup... with a 4k throughput.
ON A GOOD DAY
Is it any wonder I spend 10 hours a day here and get hardly anything read or posted?
I can't wait to fucking move and get broadband... cable, DSL, satillite, whatthefuckever other than this dialup hell.
sorry to hear about your loss, ive lost a dsl conection that was very close to my heart before, so i know what its like.
Its a crying shame... especially to have built an almost $3,000 computer (all the bells and whistles... gig of high speed ram, fastest processor and 300 gigs of hard drive space) and NOT even have a fucking MODEM.
It's like owning a Ferrari with a Volkswagon motor.
Yeah...a volkswagon engine that's in bad shape, leaks oil, and catches fire every so often.Originally Posted by HempKnight

I remember about 6 years ago, i was 8... and i think only dial-up was out.. well the only thing out that didn't cost 50000 a month. We had AOL 3.0 and Windows 3.1 ahahaha i complained that it was too slow... which it was. But now i LOVE my WLAN and DSL <3<3
I suppose I really can't bitch... YEAH I CAN!
But all I can say is at least it's not like it was in the old days...
with the Vic 20 or C-64 CBM... datasette drive... VicModem...
blazing fast 300 baud speeds... hoping there was a local BBS
to dial into... and spend 10 hours on a non-GUI text system
downloading ASCII porn onto the casette, hoping there wasn't
music on it that you wanted because you ran outta the ones
you had saved JUST for that and grabbed the closest one.
The days of finger, gopher, peeks and pokes, goto lines
and spending hours 'programming' in BASIC just to make
a pong-like sprite bounce across your monochrome monitor.
Gawddammit... NOW I feel OLD.
Wow, I havent played Pong in years.
I haven't either...Originally Posted by BrightStar
