I usually have pretty long nails (currently growing them out atm) I find it so funny when people see them online (like on youtube or something) they usually send me messages asking me for videos of them...kinda odd at times xD. but In response to how you get used to picking things up and doing things etc. It's really easy when they are your natural nails, because since they grow so slow you gradually get used to them. They're always there and never like BAM long nails. It's more awkward when they are long and break because you are so used to long nails...typing becomes a bitch after that...i always end up hitting the key below what i wanted because i was used to typing with my nails.

this thread now makes me sad. it was the first decent weekend in my area, and i got stuck doing some yardwork, mostly hauling leaf-litter and twigs by the can out to our compost heap. ended up breaking two nails, that had about an inch+ worth of growth on them. they were the only nails i can grow long, being as i bite the hell out of the rest. and though they were my pinkies, they were not used for drugs. im now finding it nearly impossible to use those fingers for anything without the nails.

A female friend of mine actually had an interesting theory on long nails.

She said to me once that women with long nails must not like sex.

Not because you can't do everything with long nails, but because you have to be careful. You can't just go wild and get totally freaky and out of control, if you are always having to think about not breaking a nail.

I'm not saying they don't look sexy, btw...
But I do keep that comment in mind when I see a girl out somewhere.

I have to say I've never broken a nail during sex, despite growing them out fairly long and not paying attention.

It does mean I only get along with lovers that can take a bit of pain, though. I get a lot of people - mostly girls - asking me how I finger my girlfriend with these nails, but so far none of my long term lovers have been the super-sensitive types.
