I'm all for body mods be it plastic surgery, tats, scarification, branding blablabla. What I think is unfortunate in both the cases of tattoos and plastic surgery is that, people want to always assume there's some bit societal pressure you've caved into that made you go out and get new boobs or a new tat or a ring through your nostril. In both cases I think there are some people for whom the body mods become an obsession, however there are a lot of people for whom it's not such a big deal.
I get very tired of hearing people railing against plastic surgery or other body mods. If it isn't your body why get all up in arms about it? Too many people will just jump to conclusions instead of just asking someone, 'hey howcome you got a boobjob/nosejob/lipo/tattoo/Prince Albert whatever. I think if people would take more time to just talk to each other about it there'd be a hell of a lot more understanding.
