Lately for me it's all about comedy. Probably for the last six months now. It's like I feel this dire need to laugh as much as I can. Maybe it has to do with the times.

I love horror. For me it's all about violence and the carnage. Helps to alleviate those primal urges of killing fellow idiot (sometimes).
See, I'm torn. I would love nothing more than to say "Horror" simply because I love watching them, thrillers and gore-fests alike! The problem is, there hasn't been a horror movie made yet that's ACTUALLY succeeded in scaring me. "The Omen" (the ORIGINAL that is) was nearly effective, "Gothic" is always great (presuming you're a fan of Mary Shelly and/or laudanum), and John Carpenter's "In the Mouth of Madness" is possibly the most Lovecraftian movie ever made (given that it's not even about the Cthulu Mythos). Still, not even these three movies could be called truly frightening. It's a sad genre as a whole, really; more comedy these days than horror.
After all these years though, I'm proud to be able to say that my favorite genre is Fantasy! I'm especially proud to be able to say such now that "Dragonslayer" and "Willow" (as awesome as "Willow" is) are no longer the best examples of the genre. Blessed art thou, Peter Jackson!
As much as I adore Horror and Sci-Fi. Comedy will usually come first, it just puts me in a better mood to laugh.
Horror ... always and forever It's one of the few things that puts me in a good mood. I also love horror's cousin genre GRINDHOSUE.
horror of the grade b or lower variety so i guess that's horror comedy or schlock? you can see a thousand great oscar films in your entire life time if ya want but there's just something about flying pirahna puppets and man eating tomatoes and flying italian zombie heads chasing after you out of a broken old refrigerator that just makes ya go-why? and then hit the rewind button to see it again.
