    To JaX & postcoital:
Nop. Had an accident. My "genius" sister closed the door while Kiki was staning on it. When I took it to the vet, about the broken leg, he said that it's no problem and that it'll heal by itself. bull. Never happened. Then I asked around (after it was too late, of course). Tried out the university. They were like outraged with the first vet's reply. The leg needed to be put back into place, and THEN left to heal. I don't doulbt his qualification at all, It's just that I think that he doesn't care enough, not to be superficial. He was like the "Yeah, whatever" type of guy.

This is my cat, Tigger. I've had him since I was 6 -- he ran into our house in the middle of winter.

Then, Jack -- he's a little over a year now, and obnoxious as hell.

Our dachsund-sheltie mix (this is an older pic when she was still just a puppy).

That's all I'll post for now -- we have 5 cats and 3 dogs.

I wouldn't defend the vet in the least for how he dealt with your bird. But really general practicioners get very little bird knowledge from school. Most is based on own interest on top of it. If birds weren't his deal, he should have referred you to someone who was into them.

Still I find myself more and more disappointed with GPs in my field

I have to say in instances of medicial illness and such the Vet is by all means the most qualified....but with husbandry of exotics (including birds), I beleive the most qualified person to sex a bird is whichever person has the most experience in it.

Though it can still be hit or miss, thus genetic testing to determine sex is not uncommon in birds.

Ive worked in many vet clinics, and actually have enough experience and education to be a vet assistant. That vet is a MORON! If a human were to break his leg, would you tell them itll heal and go on their merry way? I really hate people that have their job in a certain area, and have no compassion that is required for that job.
