Default Photos of Icon of Coil in Indy

Very low turnout, but that didn't stop IoC from putting on a fucking great show. Great energy, very positive vibe. Try to catch them if they're coming to your area.

More photos (including the openers, Absence of Faith from Louisville)

I took these with my new Sony DSCW1. The raw images are 5.1MP, so if you want a higher-res version of something, let me know.

I wish their sound had been better. The mix just did *not* suit their style at all. But IoC was REALLY cool to them, even dedicated a song to them for coming "all the way from Louisville" (sorta ironic considering how far IoC came, but it was still cool).

Do you know an email address for any of the guys in the band? I wanted to pass on the photos to them, but their web site doesn't have ANY contact info.

Here's a hint to bands: put your fucking email address on your web site, even if it is "coming soon."

Funker Vogt - and I missed it...I didn't even hear of it...either I work entirely TOO much or the advertising, needed some work.

I would classify them as Neo Goth or Goth Synth. They do a lot of remixes with today's great bands. I am sure though, there is a proper classification.

eh... they generally get thrown in with the "futurepop" crowd, which is stuff like VNV Nation and Apoptygma Berserk. IOC tends to have a harder edge, though, than either of those two bands (especially Apop). If you dig 242 or FLA, you should give IOC a shot.

Future Pop that is what they call it today...its good to know..I still classify all those bands (Apop, Vogt, Assemblage and VNV , L'ame Immortelle, as Neo Goth ) Prolly cause alot of the remix/collaboration Neo Goth cd's have those bands on them. *winx*

I dont think there is anything goth sounding about Funker Vogt, A23, or IOC. Vogt is more industrial, even metal sounding sometimes. A23 and IOC is straight up synth pop.

I am not saying they are Goth..only that i have a few Neo Goth Comp cd's that feature several of those artists..so i have always refered to the style of their music as Neo. I am thankful i was told the proper genre title is *futurepop* so now i know...(learn something new every day)The title of the double cd comp is called *This is Neo- Goth by cleopatra records 2003 Marina Del Ray, Ca.. Features artists such as:

    VNV Nation
    L'Ame Immortelle
    Velvet Acid Christ
    Funger Vogt
    Zeromancer
    Slick idiot
    Covenant
    Wumpscut
    Pax
    Birthday massacre
    Claire Voyant
    Electric hellfire Club
    Razed in Black
    Hocico
    Apoptygma Berzerk
    Spahn Ranch
    Endemonia

Lots of awesome bands...and actually a excellent compillation cd.

Man, is Cleo still around? I remember when they were the badasses in the industrial scene back in 94 or so.

Hot topic is one of the only places in the mall the younger crowd can get goth/industrial cds. So more power to them.

Hey, I've bought some shit from HT, mostly T-shirts. I don't kid myself into thinking I'm fighting the system by shopping there, but they occasionally have some cool stuff, and I like to be able to see/touch clothing before I buy it. Not many other options in the area -- even Indy, which is only an hour away, doesn't really have many gothy/fetishy shops (at least ones I know about).
