How do you take your caffeine?

I've really cut down on my caffeine-consumption, but I'm thinking about it. How do you take your caffeine? Office coffee, specific coffeehouse's latte, diner coffee, blended with ice and bananas, Dr. Pepper, Diet Coke, Jolt, ground up No-Doz and a five dollar bill . . .

These days I'm taking mine in the form of Diet Dr. Pepper... but I love white chocolate mochas.. droooool..

I hate caffine because of the negative effects it has on a person eventually.

I dont know if it is true or not, but Doctors a long time ago said that I would be at least a foot or two taller if I hadnt drank so many sodas when I was younger.

And being forced to carry so much stuff in my backback that it gave me a lot of back damage was no help either

I can't drink caffine. My mother and I can't process caffine, we get really bad kidney infections with even half a can of soda. I used to drink Vanilla Coke and Dr. Pepper here and there, but I can't anymore.

In women especially its really bad. It depletes the calcium in the body causing growth problems and hunchbacks.

Of course, once, in high-school, a friend of mine and I boiled down a bottle of Jolt (the drug store in that microscopic rural town wouldn't sell us No-Doz) until it was just sugar and caffeine at the bottom of the pot. We each dared each other to take a huff, but we were both too much of a weenie to try it, so we just swept it into the trash before his mom got home.

Im not sure if it was a Sugar Rush, or if it was a Caffine Rush, but I ate at least 3 to 6 entire packages of brownies, from the Vending Machine in the cafeteria...

Resulting from that, I ran all around the entire High School several times, and then did several hundred sit ups and push ups, and couldnt stop laughing for hours.

Needless to say, Lots of people were outside staring at me... and I got sent out of the class, and then was sent to a counselor

Yeah, my teeth can be dissolved from the inside by the calcium depletion from the larger caffeine content in coffee, instead of the outside by the acid etch that is Dr. P. Okay, I guess I was just doomed regardless.

Not doing too badly on the cutting down though.

Hmm, lets see, throughout the years (remembering) Jolt, Dr. Pepper, Viviarin, B-12 injections, liguid B-12 taken nasally, No-Doz, Mini-thins, Yellow Jackets, Ginseng, Red-Bull, and my most recent favorite Lost Energy Drink (Made by the same people who make Monster) And yes, I am an energy junkie and yes, I have already had at least one heart attack because of it. Agreed.

I'm 5'0" and I drank only milk as a kid.

My entire family is short. My dad was just under 5'4" (at time of death, 5'6" for most of his life) and was a kid pre-convienence foods and WAY before the age when a "parent" would fill a two-month-old's bottle with Mt. Dew (I've seen this on the buses in Gary, IN -- I makes me sick to watch). My mother was the second-tallest woman in her family at 5'2" (with a younger sister at 5'4" being the tallest in recent history).

Short families produce short people. Occasionally, there's a throw-back from way-back-when in the gene pool but outside factors play such a small part in a person's height.


On the other hand, unlike my father (who was born with such an extreme calcium deficiency that he had to have his teeth replaced when he was fourteen) I have really strong and dense bones. I've never actually broken anything although I've had more than my fair share of sprains -- but I'm also accident-prone.


Of course, another amusing note would be that the Japanese have gotten taller (though far from a foot taller in average height) since the incorporation of milk and other Western delicacies into their diet. Also, according to my cousin Phaedra in Brisabane, the average Australian woman is about 5'8"-ish and the average Australian man around 6'0". Many people attribute this to better beef (which is high in iron and also allegedly encourages strong bones) in Australian than that which is in the US.
