Default Where are the Cool Magazines These Days?

It seems like most of the cool magazines I've really enjoyed over the years have died, gone bankrupt, or turned really unpleasant anyway. Amelia and I have either produced or contributed to a huge number of cool publications, but the number of them available on the newsracks seem to be getting dangerously low these days.

What cool independent magazines do you folks still look for on the racks or by subscription?

It sucks, but the world's moving in a direction where magazines aren't fast enough for most people, particularly those people who like the things we like. He has his reasons for doing what he does, but things like my former employer occasionally taking 18 months between issues haven't exactly driven consumer or retailer confidence in alternative culture magazines to an all-time high, either.

Magazines I used to read fairly often: Screw Magazine, Seconds, Keyboard, if a new Permission or Industrial Nation showed up I'd give it a perusal, B-Side...Alternative Press once in a while, Maximum Rock 'n' Roll many years ago when they were still talking about unknown bands like Green Day, White Zombie, GWAR, and all of the Sub Pop bands from Seattle...mostly music magazines, really.

As for magazines I still like to read, I really can't think of many. Wizard Toy Fare (action figure porn!) is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. I don't read much fiction, and if I'm looking for facts, I do it on here. As I said, I used to read a lot of music magazines, but in a lot of semi-recent cases, if I've wanted to know what was on a musician's mind, I've asked them myself. That's become a real hassle when it comes to dealing with record label red tape (with the way their business is going down the toilet, you'd think they'd be tripping over themselves to get free advertising from an outlet that cares about their product, but nope, they're on the side of the road yelling "GET A HORSE!" as all the Model T's drive by, in so many ways...), so I've taken a few months off (I would like to talk to Skinny Puppy though, and am toying with bugging them for an interview...).

What did you used to enjoy reading, Forrest, and what are you reading these days?
