    Default Spyware

since my computer is massively infested with spyware (thanx to WinMX, probably...), i was wondering if anyone knows of any good ani-spyware software. so far, i've tested a bunch of them, among the best Ad-Aware and ZoneAlarm, but none of them have completely cleared the sysyem...

Yes, try spysweeper, it really worked for me. I need to buy it now. They give you a free trial for about a month.

I use spybot search & destory. but the best prevention is to not use IE & try a browser like firefox instead.

WinMx is spyware free, so if you got spyware from there it's probably from downloading too much porn or commercial music. also stay away from file's that have names like "britney care bear ron jermy jenna house cable man stair at the sky blah blah blah" & any asf or exe file under atleast 1MB.

Spyware comes alot from clicking banners aswell...so make sure you trust sites if you dare click their links.

I took a look at SpySweeper when it was first mentioned here and bought it straight away.

yeah, i've become somewhat of an extremist when it comes to protection now... like my ZoneAlarm asks for permission to lauch IE now . i've got 6 (sometimes 7, cause one of them's one of those that constantly change location...) trojan reports... untill i clean them up (hopefully with SpySweeper) as soon as i disconnect....

yeah i know about the porn and small apps = spyware, but i've only used WinMX for mp3s.... didn't know about the banners though - that can be a real bitch then....

it could'ave come with a few new inFlames songs i've dloaded recently....

If by chance you are using AOL 9.0 it also has plenty of it's own spyware built right in and leaves you open to outside spyware too... Horrible vulnaribility but, that's AOHell for ya...

it freezes because the programs you are trying to remove are in use. literaly close everything else (espeshily browsers) then try running it.

I've gone off clicking onto banners in a big way lately. Not just because of the spyware which might be there, and not just because some banners bring a thousand new windows in ten seconds, but also because of this new virus which coes onto a computer through banner clicks. Fine, my McAfee has already been updated to kill the virus, but it brings a certain amount of forethought with it as to whether it's worth clicking on a banner, or just looking at the site name and typing it in yourself.

I click on banners if I'm interested in what they are about. I've got the Symantec product for killing viruses and spyware and it works very well. I've never had a problem. I've never heard of getting spyware from banners except stories about the sort of people who are surfing for giraffe sex or something and you deserve what you get, if you are on sites like that. No offense, but you are not going to have a problem with a banner on Blue Blood or Yahoo. If you can't surf where you want to go on the web, you are letting some 13-year-old hacker tell you what you can and can't do. Fuck that.

go to doxdesk and you can get your IE scanned for free and then it will tell you how to delete your spyware. click on the parasite option on the left and your IE will be scanned. this only works for IE tho.

    here's a free clue.

if, like me, you're dumb enough to bittorrent a pirated version of Photoshop Eyecandy5textures... and the keygen doesn't work... don't, for the love of Kali, DON'T go to a Russian website and download a keygen from there.

unless you think that spending a week trying to scrape trojans out of your registry is, like, character-building or something.

i have to admit, though; the moment i found where the little fucker was hiding was almost worth it.
