Default Horrible Re-makes of movies or shows.

What movies or shows do you think are ruined by their re-makes?

A Perfect Example: Wild Wild West
Another good example: The Nutty Professor

My vote would have to be for the recent remake of Dawn of the Dead. They totally butchered a classic. Yeah, it was fun; but when they started augmenting the busses I lost total respect for the writers of the film. It's just not DotD. I hope Romero spat when he saw it.

Some aspects were cool, though. I like the ideas of the zombies moving quickly. But that makes for more of an action flick. It just doesn't work without the zombies being lumbering. There was one particularly cool part, though. The shit with the zombie baby was fucking great. That's enough from me.

    Love, JJ Slash

Classic Rule of Thumb, although there are exceptions:

Skeletons move easy and are more aerodynamic.
Zombies lumber because they are carrying around a giant sack of organs and flesh, until they become skeletons.

I never really liked that show to beging with, since it was extremely disgusting, though it did have occasional shows that were funny.*

A much as I admire the french artists who worked on Godzilla...they really fucked with perfection on that one...they know it too.

Godzilla was a disaster for a variety of reasons the first of which was changing the look of Godzilla and the second was setting it in new york...very lame.

Old Godzilla movies were better than the movie with Matthew Brodderick, or however his name is spelled.

He was good in other stuff, like Ferris' day off.

First rule of any movie made by the chuckleheads that made Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and Godzilla (Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin):

If it doesn't happen in America, who gives a rat's ass?

That's why they remake foreign movies...because they're full of Frogs and Japs, dammit! And do you seriously expect your audience to READ subtitles? Hell, most of them don't read anything anyways, if they can read at all !

As for the Dawn of the Dead re-make, what do you expect? Do you honestly think that the subtle message of the original (consumerism reduces us to mindless zombies) would register with more than 3% of today's moviegoing public?

I would have walked out of the remake of Planet of the Apes if not for the fact that someone else bought my ticket and I didn't want to be rude to them.

how about that dumb smallville show? If you havent seen it, it chronicles Clark Kent's life growing up in smallville, but its freakin stupid. Lex is superman's high school friend, there is a girl named Lana (however its spelled) lane? Nope sorry. Superman was not suppossed to be this dramatic and "teeny". I hate it so much.

I dont remember who did it (Sci-Fi channel I think), but the remake of The Shining was an abomination! Truth be told, it was not a fair fight (how can you not see Jack Nicholson in that role?!?!?) but it was terrible!!!! Also, the remake of Dune (also SciFi I think) was pretty damn bad!

I can't stand when American directors redo Asian films.. i.e The Eye, Dark Water.
