    Default Wow...

I went to the doctor yesterday for some stomach pain I've been having. They told me to go to a nearby lab for some tests... so I did... They drew some blood and I was gone...

The doctor said I might have Pancreaitus (or something like that), or that my fundoplasty might be coming loose. I'll get a link to fundoplasty in a minute or two.

What would happen if I have Pancreaitus?

Ugh, sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you'll come through and everything will be alright.

Here's what I know about pancreatitis: It's an inflamation of the pancreas. You need the pancreas because that's what provides your body with insulin which helps to deal with glucose in the body. Without the pancreas, glucose levels will go out of control and you'll develop diabetes. Unfortunately, in pancreatis, the enzymes that help to digest things like fat, protein, and carbs become active inside the pancreas and...start to digest it.

There's two types of pancreatitis- acute and chronic.
Acute can be life threatening, but generally people with acute suffer for a little while, then get over it and heal. Acute is caused by some alcohol abuse and gallstones. However, with Chronic pancreatitis, the pancreas is slowly being destroyed. Chronic is generally due to years of alcohol abuse.

Symptoms, as I'm sure you probably alread know, are: Tender abdomen and abdomen pain, fever, vomiting, sweating, nausea, rapid pulse.

Yeah, definately make sure you get this treated because it can lead to other health complications such as heart failure, kidney failure, etc.

Ok. So the blood tests came back negative for pancreaitus... They found something they weren't looking for too. A trace of the bacteria that causes ulcers. So... isn't that great?
