    Default Anne rice

Ok Is it just me or is anyone else in here absolutely addicted to the Anne Rice Vampire books. I have read pandora, Interview with the vampire and The Vampire lestat I am buying queen of the damned tomorrow. Anne Rice's vampires are soo tragic, I guess they are tragic and romantic all at once, I love em! IO just hate how far off the movies they are, no so much the first but definately the second.

My favorite book is the Vampire Lestat. The only thing about her is the fact that most of the romantic relationships tend to be boy to boy. Which is a bit odd. I mean, it is cool, but it is odd that a woman would write exclusively about male to male love relationships...

The first few are good, but they get a little "out there" as time goes on.
Queen of the Damned is exactly the book where things get a little extreme.
So we will see if you like that one, or if you prefer the first two.
I think she realized that people loved her first stories,
so it seems like her other vampire stories were more simple, like the first books.
Where it is more about history, personal tragedy, and relationships,
and less junk about vampires taking over the world, etc...
That stuff I could live without. But I really like the first-person
view on history, and living in other times...

I agree that the mayfair witch series is a good one to pick up,
when you get bored of the vampire stories...

I like her stories, but sometimes it gets kindda boring with all the detailed description she does, i know it's supposed to make you feel more in the story but it get's kinda boring.

I can't stand that Vampire fantasy trip. So, no, everyone here isn't addicted to Anne Rice.

Well technically all Vampire stories are fantasy stories no matter how grim, gritty, or romantic they are played out to be...you're fundementally dealing with a creature that does not exist.

Well I am about half way through queen of the damned. So far its been pretty good. I see what you were getting at though death knight it does kinda get out there. I bought tale of the body theif and momnoch the devil. im gonna read those and then the vampire armand and merrick then ill start on the mayfair series.

Just wait till you get to blackwood farm and blood canticle, They combine the vamp chronicles and the mayfair books into an adjoining story. Make sure you read all the original vamp series and the mayfair series before you read these two. I'm in the middle of Ramses the Damned, not bad, typical Anne Rice and first hand view of history.
