Mud-Wrestling Soldier Gets the Boot, Grandma Says

RALEIGH, N.C. — A military police private who bared her breasts during a mud-wrestling party at an Army camp in Iraq is being kicked out of the service, her grandmother said Friday.

Luci Tomlin said 19-year-old Pfc. Deanna Allen was being singled out since photos of the event were published earlier this month.

"She got caught up in the moment and didn't realize the repercussions," Tomlin said from her home in Black Mountain, in western North Carolina.

Allen was initially demoted from specialist to private first class after the photos surfaced from the party at the Camp Bucca detention center in Iraq, including one of her lifting her shirt and showing her chest.

The party was held Oct. 30, as Allen's Asheville-based 105th Military Police Battalion took over duty from the 160th Military Police Battalion of Tallahassee, Fla.

"The 160th Battalion were the ones that threw the party and encouraged the girls to do this," Tomlin said. "It has been so hard. This isn't what she wanted."

Tomlin, who lives with Allen's parents and sister, said her granddaughter will be brought to Fort Bragg for processing before being released from the military. She was not sure of a schedule.

Pathetic...it was a party and she was off duty...it shouldn't be an issue if she did it willingly. I mean jeez she was 19! This is the Girld Gone Wild situation...how is this a big deal? The Army needs to focus on REAL issues (like say making sure their men and equipment have proper armor) not some chicks tits.

Have you seen or heard some of the stupid shit soldiers do? I think flashing some tits ranks pretty far on the low end. Act like professionals? Ask anyone who was in Vietnam, Korea, WW2 the gulf war and especially this war how proffesional they acted. Compared to the real issues going on out there she did not, run over someones car with a tank to teach them a lesson, **** some one, murder unarmed men or loot and steal from the Iraqis. She showed her tits.

The main problem I have is not that she got thrown out for inapropriate behavior, but that no one else did. Four or five of the spectators got counciling. BFD. There was a lot of innapropriate activity, one person gets severely punished. This is scapegoating period.
