I'm a big fan of salty remedies to make my throat inhospitable to germs. Chicken soup, gargling with hot salt water, scratching my throat with chips...

Yup I dog all that too...only I like Ritz crackers as opposed to the traditional saltines. They have more flavor to em even if they are oily as hell. I wonder why it is one craves salt in those times?

I'm no doctor, but I've read that the salt makes your throat a less hospitable place for germs to raise families.

i'm not going to tell you a good remedy to a sore throat.. cuz that's bad, and in the long run worse than a sore throat. If that applies to you, then you probibly allready know what I'm talking about..

but I just down a shitload of vitamin c and ecanacia ( however you spell it, it's like an herbal thing) whenever I feel a cold coming on, and it's supposed to boost your immune system. I don't think it really does anything, and that it's all psychosomatic, but it works for me.

Wow, only three days. You must be an excellent nurse. Thanks for the well wishes (Hmmm, I feel like we need a sickly green but happy smiley.)

I always liked a nice hot toddy. A shot of brandy or bourbon, chamomile tea, some lemon and honey. It makes you warm, fuzzy, and sleepy. Plus it sooths throat issues.

I never liked chicken soup, however oddly enough, I once had a large prime rib, medium cooked, that knocked my cold right out. *shrug*

Ive been sick with a cold for 4 days now, it sucks. I just drink lots of fluid, and rest! Nyquil works kinda well to keep you sleepy and resting!
