Why wouldn't they? They accept pretty much anybody. Just sign up for the NAVY...you'll see the world and blow the shit out of it.
Applied and/or talked to representatives before though.Originally Posted by Tequila Zaire

finally got a reply from them and discussed it with a recruiter, who was a totally jerk.
He was rude, snobby, and kept interupting Me, and barely let Me get in words until he was doing going on, and when he was speaking, it seemed like he was just reciting some pamphlet he had memorized.
the guy told Me that it would take 3 to 5 months of training , minimum to join, and then I would have to stay around here for 5 more years before I could join the crisis corps to travel.
I dont know if the guy was lying to Me, but it seemed like he didnt care if I joined at all in the peace corps.

Time to call the Navy then....
Navy isn't so bad, really. But, if you want a branch that'll go easier on you and give you better benefits, go Airforce.
Both of them keep you out of the ground fighting, which is a good thing...
Yup...or the Coast Guard.Originally Posted by TheDeathKnight

So have you called back the navy and the air force?
Call them back, and ask what is up...
Best thing is to actually call a local recruiter, and get their name,
so you can call them back personally, and ask them what the
status is...
As far as I know hes lying. My ex is in the Peace Corps and he just went to Morroco to finish up his training, and he went there pretty soon after he signed up. If youd like, I can pass on his email to you and you can talk with him about how he did it.Originally Posted by BrightStar
YES. I was in JROTC throughout jr and high school and if I had chose to could have gone in the airforce right away as an O1.Originally Posted by BrightStar

I believe you need a Bachelor's Degree to join the Peace Corps.
OEC
You're the second person to mention that this week, kinda suprising you need that for the kind of organization they are.Originally Posted by OneEyedCat

s there a place for you in the Peace Corps? Take a minute to read through this page, answer a few quick questions, and get a feel for your chances of becoming a Peace Corps Volunteer.
You may already know that all Peace Corps Volunteers must be U.S. citizens of at least 18 years of age. Here are a few things that might surprise you:
There is no upper age limit. In fact, the oldest Volunteer ever to serve in the Peace Corps was 86. You don't have to know another language. Having a four-year college degree by the time you're ready to leave for the Peace Corps will help your chances of acceptance. But it isn't absolutely necessary, and for some programs work experience, relevant skills, and/or a community college degree can qualify you.
I looked into that, the purpose of the peace corps is to make uncivilized savage countries more modernized. then I remembered we have this nice little thing called World Trade that means the world MUST trade with us, whether they like it or not, so it kind of seems to me that the only reason the peace corps go to other countries and "modernize" them is to prep the area for nike and exxon to come in and set up (sweat)shop.
