Who listens to The Damned?........

I'm sad to admit i've have never really listened to The Damned

but i got on of their songs,oddly enough called "democracy" hahha, but i've been listing to it alot.......


so if you have listened/still listen to The Damned what's a good Album to get.....i've heard some of their stuff is better than others.....

I haven't even heard their newer stuff. Will check it out now that u mention it, tho. I think they've come out with another album since '01 even.

Indeed they were. They recently reunited and have put out a couple albums.

NEAT NEAT NEAT!!! The Damned are great. Haven't heard TSOL yet tho. A friend of mine has been saying he's going to burn me a compilation for months... I don't think he's coming through with that one. Although, he is responsible for reminding me what an awesome musical presence Killing Joke is! Their 2003 album is the shit - esp. with Dave Grohl on drums.

Smash it up!!! Anyhow yeah The damned are great that whole era of music was amazing so many different bands with different sounds it was a very creative period. IN new wave punk and even metal. Most of the bands that are considere conerstones of over flogged genres came form this period, Minor Threat, KraftWerk, Minute Men, Joy Division, Iron Maiden etc ect. Don't ever feel ashamed if you don't listen to a band or know of another alot of people grasp to that stuff like a homeless wretch fighting for a mear sheckle, or other known as music snobs... music is an art and is subjective and just like art it is never to late to appreciate it or be enlightened by it.....there are bands form back then I have never even heard of or barely know....like Mobys old Hardcore band vatican Commandos, or another band that I found on Metropolis called BunnyDrum..similare to the MinuteMen....There are bands and Album,ns I have listed form the 90's I still haven't obtained...a good example....The Pixies Absouloutley love thier stuff but I have two Albumns I have been nearly coherced by lazyness to buy thier gretes of albumn...but I would rather get eahc of the originals....another is Skinny Puppy....I can go on and on some badns I was lucky and caught them and enjoyed thier carrears and albumns others I missed altogether only to find them later.....But anyhow don't feel like yer not hip or anything.....cause ya are....Actually The Damned's newer stuff is not to bad.....but thier older stuff is way better.....from a way cooler time....I think

Well, for a great live recording go with "the Peel sessions". but for a great recorded album hmm.. Phantasmagoria, or Strawberries are both great. if your looking for maybe a more broad view of ther style i would strongly reccomend picking up "The light an the end of the tunnel". I better stop or ill be typing all night lol.

I've been a fan of The Damned for nearly 2 decades...

Sanctuary- 28 gothic anthems (2 cd set) The song (The shadow of love) has got to be one of the best...it reminds me of a cross between goth and the blues brothers/roy rogers...Brilliant!

The reason I sugest this one...is the earlier stuff has one or three good songs on each album...this one , nearly every song is awesome..
