if your stuff was already packed and they kicked you out so you didn't have to worry about being brought back why didn't you get out of there?

You might just try filing a police report after you get away from them. Either tell the police the whole story about where your ID is or just say your wallet got stolen without specifics and get new ID. I'd tell the whole truth, but that is just me.

You are more important than your stuff. You can always get new stuff.

Good questions...people have been giving him solid advice and ideas since he first signed up nearly a year back. I doubt he's comfy in his situation...sounds more like fear is keeping him where he is.

Who knows. I know alot of abuse victims stay in their abusive relationships because they fear change and are actually comfy knowing what to expect. I think its a mixture of both. If my dad and grandma were burning me with hot pans and shit like that, youd better believe Id get someone to take pics of the burns and bruises and send my dads butt to jail.

    GET THE FUCK OUT!

    LEAVE!

    Or stop complaining...

    You are already 18, right?
If you are 18 now, they can't send the police to bring you home if you run away.
Get your shit, at the next possible opportunity, and leave.
Get your ID, clothes, warhammer figurines,
and whatever else you need, put it in a suitcase, and get on a bus...

Then look into a shelter, and look for help with housing, etc.
Most large cities have programs to help people in that situation.
They will help you get on your feet, and start a new life.

Go get your shit, print out the list of shelters, and phone numbers,
and get on a bus, and get the fuck out of there...

It is fear. I am still searching for room mates, making aplications at various organizations such as peace corps, some military groups, and some others. (So far the peace corps seem better than the army, but I am still checking out their info, and awaiting their response.)

I am slowly doing that, and am in the process of throwing away some stuff to lighten the load.

I actually forgot how to take a bus.

So if the peace corps, roommates, etc, do not work out, what is the plan?

    Would you consider the military?
If so, maybe you could talk to them about joining.
If not, here is what you should do:

Since you are over 18, what you should do, is save up $150 or more.
    Get a suitcase with wheels.
Put all your stuff in it.
Get a ride, or call a cab, and go to the bus station.
Do it when no one else is at home.
When you get to the bus station,
get a ticket to Los Angeles, or San Diego.
Someplace warm, where you will not freeze to death.
It costs about $100 for a one-way ticket.
Or if you do not want to go so far away,
go to Miami or some other city in Florida.
Then use the list of shelters, to contact a
shelter in the city you go to. They will give
you food and a place to sleep. Stay there,
and look for a job. Once you have a job,
look for room-mates that are willing to
split an apartment with 4-6 people,
so your rent is only $100-200 a month.
Once you have a job, and a place,
you can start to get on with your life...

Well, if you do not hear back from the peace corps, or the military,
then you should get the hell out on your own very soon afterwards.
Don't make excuses for why you can't leave.
You can leave, any time you want to.
They can't make you come home.
    They can't call the cops.
If you want to leave, you can leave.
Just like anyone else who has their parents die,
or someone who is kicked out of the house at age 18.
Many people live on their own at age 18.
You don't have to go home because you are hungry,
or because you need a place to stay. You will probably
be better off at a shelter, than you will at home.
If you have a hard time making it on your own,
go to other people for help. Don't go back home.

Yeah, but everytime you mention you are moving to a new place,
or you mention that something fucked up happened to you,
it reminds us that you need to get on your own, and get
away from that situation. When they are moving someplace
new, is a perfect time for you to leave. Even right now,
is a perfect time to leave. Before something else fucked
up happens. It's better just to be on your own...

What response exactly? Normally those organizations are bending over backwards for people...hell the Marines still call me.

Dude...it's a been a year of your horror stories and family issues. You're what 20? It's kind of hard to have sympathy when pretty much everyone here has gone out of their way to give you solutions to your situation for nearly a year now. I know it's tough taking the first step but you can only try so much before you simply gotta do something.

If you're waiting for things to magically set themselves in line for your escape then you're fucked and better get use to your misery.

Now if NOTHING mentioned by people here is an option and you really are limited to your current Hell by outside forces...well then use what you DO have at your disposal. You have the net...you can find all the information and ideas for your escape.

I mean come on...if convicts can escape from prison then you can escape your situation...and I kinda doubt the FBI will come hunting for you.

No one here can help you anymore...it's all on your shoulders now.

I called their people on the phones, mailed in E-mails, and filled out papers. Still no response other than the Army or Marines who were like: Ok, so we will call you again on such and such. They never called back. I am thinking about nagging them some more though.

As for the options mentioned by them. They are all very good suggestions, and I tried a bunch of them, but ended up back here in the results. I am still trying some of those methods, and still am trying others.

The comment about prison is so true.

    People escape from prison.

They escape with guards watching them, guns, etc.

And they escape with no money, no help, etc...

They figure out a way somehow.

Thinking about how hard it is to escape prison,
or how hard it is to cross the border to the US from Mexico,
I think escaping from an unguarded house is pretty damn simple.

    It's not hard to escape.

    You just walk away.

Even if you have no money, no place to stay, etc, you can hitchhike,
panhandle money from people, etc. People will feel sorry for you,
and help you out with $, if you sound sincere. I used to see homeless
people and kids at Mcdonalds every morning, asking people to buy
them a burger. They only had to ask a couple people, before someone
would buy them some food. So you won't starve. Just ask for help,
and people will help you. Why don't you call one of those organizations
I sent you links to, and ask them what to do. Ask them if you can
stay at one of their shelters. Ask them if they can help you to
find a job, etc... Maybe they will be happy to help, and point
    you in the right direction...

I was kicked out at 15, ate better and made lots of money living on the streets. I lived in shelters and slept in gutters. Not many people are strong enough for that, but I just dislike people who bitch about their home situations when they can leave home and make a living for themselves.

I moved out at 16 and stayed with an abusive boyfriend for almost a year, before finally moving in with my grandmother in a falling down shack. I had boards caulked to the ceiling for a roof and slept with spiders and mice. I went to NYC after dropping out of school. I lived there for a month with a friend I met online. I finally went back home after realizing my situation there wouldn't have had a pretty end. 3 months later, I moved in with the greatest guy I know, and have been here for almost a year.

That's the thing... it's not always fun to leave, and it's not always easy...

But if you never leave the first fucked-up situation, you will never have the chance to find something great.

The thing is to never accept a shitty situation. If one situation sucks, leave it. Maybe the next one will be worse, or maybe it will be better. But if you don't leave, you will just stay in the same shitty situation forever... Change is the key. Keep moving, keep changing, and eventually you will find the right place to be...
