I have recently acquired a mohawk, but my hair is slightly longish. and I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on how to get it to stay up without using way too much glue.

you could tease it up and then use a lot of aquanet some other such product but i dont know if thats the look your going for
yup we used styling wax and extra super strength aqua net..(white and purple can) or stiff stuff works good..on the mohawk or rail spikes
There are probably some better new products, but Aquanet is just so traditional.
SLC Punk is one of my favorite movies too.
I used to use Knox gellatin and auqanet
Having sported a 24" mohawk for most of my youth. I have found using egg whites as a base and then aquanet, works miracles. Don't be afraid of spray on lacquer as well, after all its just hair and grows back.
LOL Lavquer that is awesome...Th hawk of death... Chicks with hawks are hot, the bigger the better...
Like Amelia mentioned...I'm a bit on the old fashioned side...Aquanet.. It hasn't let me down yet... I find some Pomades to be too shiny on my... Im not a fan of shiny hair.. nope not at all..
^v^-hawk it to me baby

when my hawk was about 16" I just used hairspray and a blowdryer. guess my hair just likes me;] I never had to use anything else. I just started at the roots, sprayed and blowdried it immediately, and worked my way up. Flawless fan every time;] Now my hair is only about 6", so its super easy to fan.
gelatin and a hairdryer
will hold up for days
it will hold for weeks but it also starts to get really nasty after a few days. I think the longest I kept it up before washing it out was 3-4 days.Originally Posted by kellie

the biggest mistake most people make when using glue is that they don't let it dry before adding more... unfortunately with elmers when you add more it makes it wet again and thus flops over... if you add a little then let it dry then add some more then let it dry again ... can take awhile...(blow dryer helps alot) but then you can use just enough to make your hair stand up right without using to much to get the "hey i just jizzed in my hair" look
hey, that's me. i always got that, and then I replied, of course, you've got that "hey i'm about to get punched in the face" look
TIGI hard head mohawk gel. this stuff is like glue (personally better). wire for the non faint of heart lierty spikes.
