Sorry, but I still think it's funny as hell. I think some people just have bad taste with make-up. If you're experimenting with something, fine, if they think they are being retarded, then they shouldn't mind people laughing at their pictures. I know way too many teenagers who actually think it's cool to wear halloween paint on a normal basis. If they like it whatever, but I think it's hilarious.

I will add this though, I don't get how some of the pictures made it in there. Some people are just wearing band shirts and look normal.

i confess i may have dabbled with some looks in my youth (ie black eye shadow, spikes) At least their not out smoking crack or robbing old lady's. I actually think it's kinda cool to dress up stupid and take pictures of your friends. More creative that playing video games.
That said I did have a laugh at some of those. All in good fun though.

Didn't most of you come up in a community that didn't approve of your style at the time? Didn't most of you take it further than you now feel comfortable taking it?

dimm borgir.. haha. it's pretty fucking wierd when you can buy black metal at Target. but then they sell a lot of Hardcore too. I guess I kinda admire them by not going the way of walamrt and trying to censor all their shit and only sell country and top 40, they actually have some grasp of the youth market. on the other hand by commercialing it is just outs how fucking lame all the scene kids are which we knew anyway, so it works out for everyone.

Teenagers will always be followers, scenesters, etc...

It doesn't matter what the scene is, they start out as a kid, raised by their parents in some kind of normal childhood. Then they hit the teenage years, and they want to be cool. They want to be different, interesting, etc... So they grab onto whatever trends are around. I guess what I was trying to say, is that when I was a kid, I was into bands, whether it was Kiss, or Metallica, or whatever. And I liked the music. I did not know if it was "commercial" or not. I did not care. All I knew, was that the bands kicked ass, breathed fire, spit blood, played loud, and I liked it. So you copy the thing you think is cool. You wear the t-shirts, try out the makeup, and do all that stuff... And that is what the kids are doing now. They grow out of their "radio disney" crap their parents played for them as kids, and they listen to Good Charlotte, or Green Day, or Linkin Park, or whatever is hot at the moment, and they get totally into it. And I give more credit to the black metal kids for being extreme, rather than the kids who try to fit in, and try to be hip, and wear Abercrombie clothes, etc... At least the black metal kids are rebelling against the "norm" in some way, rather than trying to fit in. I may not want to hang out with them, but I give them credit for their efforts...
