If the shards get into your skin deeply after cutting, and the skin seals around most of the glass shards , will they work their way out on their own?
what should I do?

oh you bet they will i hqad to have a glass shard surgicaly removed after it went inside my hand and the wound healed around it
Will it work it's way out and leave eventually, like a Pocupine Quill?

no your body cant break down the glass and eventualy scar tissue will form around it and it WILL HURT ALOT thats why i had to get a piece removedOriginally Posted by BrightStar
it can actually get sucked in deeper, had a peice of metal in my hand,it it got deeper with time ,finally i think i was drunk and cut it out........
yeah, I'd go to the hospital for that
True but my vote goes for the getting drunk and cutting it out idea.Originally Posted by hewhoisagod

glass can sometimes be forced out by the skin but only very very small splinters other than that they need to be removed by a doctor the sooner the better.
I used to work for a glass co. all you need is a razorblade, some rubbing alcohol (not to drink), and some tweezers.
but if it is too deep I would see a doctor.
I dug most of the shards out , and had to use a pocket knife to get some of the others out, but there are some that went in too deep to dig out. **
hmm...
sounds like the punchline to a "You might a redneck..." joke.

Pocket knife a lighter some tweezers and maybe a needle and thread just in case.
