I don't know why I generalise people. oh snap I do: it's bigotry, based upon the most idiotic experiences possible involving tattoo'd people, and I KNOW all tattoo's kids aren't like that, but it doesn't help them out much wanting to look like the minority of buffoons who sport tattoos as well.

my ink is for me. not anyone else. (maybe my husband) i did it because i wanted to. i cuoldn't care less about what's cool. i happen to be a christian also. i love well done ink and anyone who waers it well. that means they don't walk around pushing their arms or whatever in your face, like saying look what i got. my brother got his tat just because the rest of the family has one. i think he's an jerk most the time. anyhow you haven't been talking to the right people because people with ink are just people. some are cool some need thier ass whooped.

I agree that a lot of tattoos are lame, and a lot of them are cheesy.
And yes, some people get them for stupid reasons.

But at the same time, the reason people get them, is because they like them.
They like the idea of being decorated with ink.
So they do it.

I really don't have a problem with that.

Some people get stupid tattoos, and some people get some really cool looking tattoos.

I have quite a few, and I did mine because I felt like it.
I saw no real reason not to.
If people don't like it, then too bad.
I like them.
I design them all myself, and they are all my own ideas.
They are all abstract, for the most part, and they should
not go out of style, since they are just my ideas and designs.

I'm the same person I was before I did any tattoos.
I'm not any cooler, or nicer, or whatever...
I just have to have some cool decorations on my skin that I really like.

yeah, lately i've been wanting to get more work done, but i'm having reservations on it. It just seems kind of pointless. For the cash dropped on a tattoo I could like feed an entire african village (and they'd probibly all have tattoos too!)

If you're getting a tatt just to fit in then you've got some issues that need to be resolved right now. Any ink that I've had done is for me and none of it is "trendy" either. I've got no problem with someone who doesn't want any tattoos, but have you ever considered getiing one, or is your skin too pretty?

Sure, smooth, pure skin is nice, but everyone has plain skin with nothing on it.
95% of the world has plain skin.
So I don't think there is that much value in preserving yours in some "pristine state"...
