well no and yes. I don't celeberate it.. but I do have plans on the day for an anti-thanksgiving celebration. I'm going to ditch the family and camping in the woods, sort of a more naturalistic way of giving thanks and paying my respects to the american indians without the colonialism.

Just use it as an excuse to have a party with turkey.
It helps people realize that it doesn't have to be a lame "family" holiday.

Nupe, don't do anything. Vegetarian, so don't really eat the Turkey, either. The holiday pisses me off. Somehow all those dead Indians just don't give me a boner.

sunday night leftovers...

it started out in boston since it is such a college town everyone(including me) goes home for the weekend to be with there family...but they all come back sunday leaving sunday night for friends to get together...

so this will be the 4th annual sunday leftovers... i usually receive a turkey either from my mom's insane shopping sprees or i get one from work... (yeah they two different jobs now gave there employees a turkey for turkey day.)


then i tell the guests the only rule "bring something"
which always is followed by "well what should i bring"
and my response is "its your call if we end up with a turkey and 10 different types of mashed potato's then thats what we will be eating."

that answer is never good enough so then i just offer the advice " if your makign something then make somethign that you would want to share with everyone a favorite dish soemthing you make exceptionally well. something nobody would think to make on turkey day etc"

Mmm THanksgiving I am a vegitarian but my mom cooks up a whole feast just for me this year I am bringing 2 other veggie friends with me :-) I usually end the night ancy and end up at Perversions and no one else is there so I just drink it up all alone :-)

so one year some of my other vegan friends got a 'tofurky' (demented I know) and when it came time to shape the darn thing into a 'turkeyesque' shape, instead they made it into a butt...
