Would you rather be boiled in oil or hung by the neck? Supposedly this was one of those brain twister questions when my dad was in grade school.

Are you serious? When someone is to be hanged, they have people who work our exactly how much slack is needed to break their neck and cause instant (or near instant) death. Too much slack and you're decapitated. Too little and you dangle there and suffocate to death. No way are you escaping.

Rope.......... you're still alive for most of the boiling........... pain is one thing, but being boiled is a little different.......... besides, you leave a better looking corpse after being hung.

Wasnt focusing on that, so much as the fact that the Boiling would probably hurt more, unless they screwed up with the hanging. then that would be a toss-up.

I would much rather be hung. I watched my brother get burnt by a burning can Colman camp fuel and I could only imagine what being boiled in oil would be like. Please, I'd MUCH rather be hung...Unless of corse there's an option of the guillotine. Even then though, the head can stay alive for up to 15 seconds post decapitation.

I think I would rather be hung....Quick, painless death... As far as being boiled, I guess your nerve roots would burn off then you wouldnt feel much, But who wants to wait for that to happen? >=o/

It is said that mandrake roots are growing where the semen of a dead hung man hits the ground.
On the other hand, since muscles relax post mortem, I'd spend a while on the toilet first, just to avoid embarrassing situations ,)

Never heard that before. Sounds interesting to say the least. I wonder how one goes about procuring one of these Mandrakes.

I don't blame you for that last part though.
