    Default Baking

So I'm doing that holiday baking thing. I'm going to make some(more) of my peanut butter cookies, definitly making my snowball cookies (also known as Russian tea cakes and Mexican wedding cakes). The question here is : should I make fudge too? Some of my Better-Than-Fabulous Bananna Muffins? Oridnary sugar cookies?

Uhh...I don't want to sound like I'm dissing your mad leet cooking skills, but have you made fudge before? That stuff is the most temperamental of confectionary treats you can make. As little as a minute too long on the stove or three degrees too hot or cold and you end up with syrup or basically fudge flavored brown sugar. Which isn't bad tasting, but just not fudge.

Have you made cinnamon candy? It's great!

We make fudge. Igloos out of it, however, are bad news. Penguins eat your house and then you're homeless in the winter

The closest I've come to screwing up fudge is burning my self when my arm got tired of stirring. I've made chocolate rasberry fudge, peanutbutter, butterscotch (which is awesome when done right). Now taffy is difficult, you get it to hot and you end up with ribbon candy.

I do have a vinyl french maid's outfit...

Melting point of vinyl - 170 degrees
Boiling point of fudge - 230 degrees

This could be so close to the perfect fantasy, and yet so close to a slot on Jackass. As I say about a lot of what I do - if you can't be safe, be careful. If you can't be careful, stand near a telephone.

Pull~my~hair - it's all in the stirring, or lack of it (going by the concentration my better half puts into it, it also seems to be some kind of religion). Stir like fook while it's heating, then stop at *exxactly* the right monent or it.. well you know what you'll end up with.

For fudge that's gone all mushily wrong - throw it into muffin mix just before you dollop it into the trays, and you'll get something to die for. Also worth following the First Rule of Cooking for Men - if you haven't added alcohol, it's not done yet. That rule applies to the food, and the chef.

cat kebab?!! are you sticking cats in sandwichis olix??? horrible.
today ill be making chocolate shortbread cookies... some with regular chocolate and some with terrys chocolate oranges mmmmm...
    who wants the recipe!

    terrys chocolate orange shortbreads!!!

    1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup super fine sugar (icing sugar)
    2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp grated orange peel
1 terrys chocolate orange, seperated into 20 segments, each cut in half

preheat oven to 350 F. beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.gradually add flour, beating until well blended after each addition. roll dough into 20 balls, each about 1 1/2 inches in diameter; flatten iwth palm of hand. top each with 1 chocolate peice; wrap dough around chocolate to completely enclose it. place, 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. flatten slightly.
bake 20 minutes. remove from oven and immediately place 1 of the remaining chocolate peices on each cookie. transfer cookies to wire racks to cool 10 minutes before serving.
    makes 20 cookies.

    MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!
terrys chocolate oranges are sooo tasty.. but theyre like 5 bucks each! EACH!! wtf.

    Can I have a cookie?

Anyhow, I've been thinking of holding a cookie swap but it probably won't happen until next month. Too much to do and not enough time before Christmas.
